Yes, this gym is open 24 hours per day! This is very helpful to avoid the "rush" that tends to occur before 8 am and after 5 pm. The gym is VERY large and laid out nicely. There is also a pool and a large basketball court, and numerous classes. Monthly or yearly memberships are available and priced right. Personal trainers available to help. No better alternative in Central PA.
Haring's Tree farm is a great alternative to buying your Christmas tree already cut.
It is located in York Haven, overlooking the Susquehanna river. There are plenty of signs to get you there easily.
It is an actual tree farm where you can walk through the rows and rows of trees and cut (or have the staff cut) your own tree. They also have pre-cut trees to choose from. They shake and wrap the tree for you and will load it onto or into your car. They also have a pile of free "trimmings" which is a nice touch, and a selection of wreaths to purchase.
This is a great place to take your family to make tree buying an event rather than just a chore!
This is a cute little flower shop that does nice arrangements. The staff is pleasant, and the store looks nice. They also sell lottery tickets. It is a nice "local" alternative to the larger floral chains. Worth checking out if you are shopping for flowers.
This is a great alternative to getting your $5 latte at the "green mermaid." The drinks here are well prepared, good sizes, and creative. I highly recommend that you stop in, and try the Bullwinkle!
These guys are great. I have gone here for all sorts of repairs and never had a problem. The prices are very reasonable, and the turn around time is speedy. This is a great place to go if you need a new tire, oil change, or other repairs to your car.
This is a great place to go for all of your tanning needs. Appointments are pretty easy to come by. They have good deals / specials if you buy tanning packages. You have the option of tanning in a bed or a standing booth, and also they have some "high powered" machines and face tanners. Nice selection of lotions as well. Good little place.
Toms is a great little diner on the corner of Broadway and 112th Streets. You may recognize it as the restaurant used in the show Seinfeld. Aside from this fame, the place is still worth a visit. It is a true, old-school diner in just about every way. The waitresses are matter of fact (perhaps abrasive at times), the prices are cheap, and the food comes very quick. The restaurant isn't enormous, but it's big enough.
Cash only. Worth a trip in.
Glenn Millers is the place to go if you are looking to buy beer or soda en masse. There cold beer selection alone is reason to go here. The store is nicely laid out with wide aisles and is easily marked. The prices are good as well, and the cashiers are friendly and swift. You can also buy miscellaneous munchies and lottery tickets here.
This is a great little sandwich shop located in the food court of the Capital City Mall. The menu has a nice selection, and the prices are not high at all. The staff is usually friendly and the service is fast. They also do all of the PA Lottery ticket services, so you can scratch some tickets while you eat your sandwich!
I had a really pleasant experience purchasing a used vehicle here. The staff was friendly but not pushy, which is a rare balance to strike in car shopping. My transaction was swift and easy, and the dealer gave me different financing options which I liked. The car had a current carfax report included which was also nice and they did Honda's standard inspection on the car. I still get service notices in the mail to remind me when it is due for service.
