I have used Dr. Sarzen for the past couple of years for second opinions of my diagnionses of stomach and intestinal problems. I have found him to be thorough and professional. Dr. Sarzen went to medical school at Vanderbilt and has built a strong practice in Atlanta. While there was a mixup on a prescription that a previous doctor had been prescribing, Dr. Sarzen's office was able to fix the problem. His office is located off Mt. Vernon in Sandy Springs.
While Stone Mountain Park is probably not the attraction that it used to be, I still have a good time when I visit. Your $8 parking pass gets you into the park, after which you can check out the shops at Crossroads or have a round of golf, or go up to the top of the mountain. Of course, you should not even think about going to Stone Mountain Park unless you stay for the nightly laser show and fireworks display. While I was skeptical that I would enjoy the show, I have to admit that I did find the laser show to be enjoyable.
A Day at the Atlanta History Center is probably one of the most enriching days that you have ever spent. The exhibits basically bring alive what it was like to live in Atlanta in the past. The center provides powerful insight into the black/white seperation that ruled the South for many decades. In addition, the center includes two polarly opposite houses which give a startling insight into how different classes lived in Atlanta (one is a rural farm and the other is a opulent mega-mansion). Plan on spending an entire day. Admission is $12 for adults.
Whenever I need to get some good vodka or whiskey, I always go to Tower Liqours off of Piedmont (near Lindbergh Center). The store stocks an amazing variety of liquors and the prices are pretty good as well. Supposedly this store is the highest volume liquor store in the South. I don't doubt it as I have watched everyone from Buckhead socialites to down at the heels homeless make their alcohol purchases.
Stepping into Rainbow Foods reminds you of what a health food store is supposed to be like. The smell, the "health food" daily specials back in the cafe, even the customers give off that aura. Rainbow Foods is located in the shopping center opposite Publix at the intersection of Clairmont and N. Decatur. I have been able to find the health foods and herbal supplements I have been looking for and have been impressed by the friendly staff. Part of the stores mystique unquestionably is the fact that it is located near Emory University and so it attracts a collegiate clientele (as well as professors).
I have been very happy with the services I have received at Metro Atlanta Gastroenterology. I have been a patient of both Dr. Ainsworth and Dr. McGahan at the practice and have been very happy with both physicians. They have been able to eradicate pains that had been cramping my lifestyle. While no trip to the doctor is every pleasurable, I have been comforted knowing that I am receiving excellent care.
I have been to MDM three times now for various skin ailments and have been very impressed by the professional care of Dr. Papadoplous and his assistant Lee Coulter. They have performed a skin cancer biopsy on me and also removed some blemishes and I have been very happy with the care and treatment I have received. They are located on the top floor of the Emory Clinic in the health corridor off Peachtree Dunwoody near Noerthside Hospital.
I have been using the Georgia Optometry Group for my annual exam and new glasses for the past 5 years. I have never had a problem with them. They have always provided an excellent exam and have been able to provide me with a wide range of glasses and styles. The group works with most vision insurance plans, so if you are able to get vision coverage at your workplace, this is the place to go to. It usually takes one to two weeks to get your glasses, so come in before you need them.
I have been going to Dr. Michaels for my dental work for the past ten years. His offices are located in mid-town and while parking is at a premium it is still worth it to have him as my dentist. As an example, during my last filling, I was given a walkman to listen to and the chair had a back massager. What could have been a very unpleasant experience, really wasn't all that bad! He also has a great personality.
Automotive Foreign Services did a good job of repairing my car after my last accident. They even provided me with a free loaner car. When I drove the car in, I really thought it was going to have to be junked (major suspension damage), but they were able to help me get the car repaired at a salvageable price, and it has run fine since. The employees were helpful and knowledgeable.
