Lakedale Resort
We stayed at one of the log cabins at Lakedale Resort in Friday Harbor, and we were happy with the cozy feel of the log cabins. With the cabin rental, they provide one hour of free row boat service so you could fish in the lake, but none of us caught any. There is also a big hot tub in the common area, which was broken the weekend we went. Its a nice campground, but I prefer Wood Duck Ponds for the big space and privacy.
Wood Duck Ponds
Kits Wood Duck Pond is a wonderful place to enjoy a lovely weekend in the San Juan Island. Away from the pier, you get to enjoy the quiet but beautiful 25 acre of private land all to yourselves. Even though the property is so big, the whole garden is immaculately kept with a beautiful pond and a gazebo. Wood Duck Pond is usually rented out for weddings or outdoor events, but my friends and I usually just rent it for the weekend just for a little R&R. And I saw my first shooting stars while we visited there three years ago, so this place will always be special to me.
Northwest Trek Wildlife Park
NW Trek is a great place to take your family for a daytrip. This park/zoo is full of interesting things for both the kids and adults to see and do. You could walk through the many trails in the park, or learn some interesting facts about the animals in the learning center. If you are tired of walking, you could take the open-air tram and see how the animals live in their natural environment. What I love about NW Trek is everything is so nature-oriented, the animals roam free so when you are in the tram, the buffalos or elks might just be a few feet from you.
Brides By Demetrios
I bought my wedding dress from Demetrios, and I think the saleslady did my measurement incorrectly, so the dress I purchased was about two sizes too big. Even when the saleslady measured me, I asked if she measured correctly, and she said yes. When the dress arrived, it was HUGE. I should have requested that they reorder a smaller size for me, but in the end, I just had my own alterations lady downsized the dress for me.
Cake House
The cakes from Cake House are lighter, fluffier, and not as sweet as our regular cake, the frosting is so light it almost taste like whipped cream. They also have a wide variety of cakes to choose from, which includes mango, taro, black forest, fresh fruits, and napolitan, (just to name a few.) In addition to delicious cakes, they also have yummy pastries filled with coconut cream, ham and egg, and curry beef.
Reprographics Northwest
Reprographics Northwest offers printing services at a reasonable price with quick turnaround time, they allow you to submit your printing job to them online so I do not have to leave my office twice for one print job. The staff is also very courteous and knowledgeable with their products. They also have delivery service available if you are too busy to pick up your print job.
Seattle Metropolitan Credit Union
The tellers at SMCU are all quick, efficient and friendly. I have always received excellent service with this bank, and I am always in and out very quickly. One thing I especially like is that when you are doing one single transaction, they do not require you to fill out all the paper work, so it saves a lot of time and paper.
Emerald Downs
Emerald Downs is an excellent place for people of any age. I went down this summer with my friends and family, and we all had a great time. The adults all had fun betting on horses while the kids enjoyed watching the horses. Theres a big patch of grass so you could enjoy a little picnic while watching the race. I am not sure if you could bring in your own food, but the prices of food is very reasonable, so even with admissions ticket and meal price, it still wont break the bank. In fact, if you are lucky, you might even take more money home than you brought!
The Summit at Snoqualmie
If your kids are too young to ski or snowboard, but you want to take your kids out for a little snow action, then Summit tubing is the place to take them. The Summit tubing is a small area off to the side of the ski slopes that provide safe tubing for kids. Not only will your kids love it, but parents also have fun there too. If your kids are too young, you could bring you own sled, and play on the side.
Dreamcraft Homes
Great house layouts and locations, but not so good craftsmanship and service. We purchased our house with Dreamcraft because we like the location and the layout of our house. However, we were not happy with the craftsmanship or the service we received from Dreamcraft. When our house was being built, we would inquire about different upgrades to the house, and it seems each time we called, we would get a different answer. We were lucky that we purchased our home before they break ground so we were able to get the kinks sorted out. Word of advise, call, write, email repeatedly if you have requests, because no doesnt necessarily mean no because if you ask enough times, they might do it for you.
