Basket Tree Gifts have a lot of little individual type items that are perfect for gift baskets of all kinds. They have small coffees, teas, lotions, etc. You can pick out a basket and all the things to go in it and make one there or you can just get the items and take them home and make your own basket. Once they put them together there they are beautiful and they do a really good job. They don't have a ton of things to put in the baskets so if you have something special you want to include- bring it with you. The store is small and if they have a couple of customers- you can feel cramped.
The Owls Nest is a wonderful toy store that is in the Village are in Colleyville. The store carries a lot of unique toys and real well made toys. The store is small but is decorated to make any child feel welcome. They had a lot of books and upscale toys. They have some plush animals but they are kinda expensive. The have a learning toys area and you can find toys there you can't find anywhere else. The clerk was helpful and showed us a lot of the more unique children's toys. The parking could be better especially during the holiday time. They do decorate outside for Christmas and it makes the store look even cuter!
Forrestwood Antique Mall is run by Antiqueland and they really do a good job with this mall. It is always clean and nice inside. They keep the lights bright so you can see what you are looking at. They are set up with individual booths that people rent and they set their own prices. They have case displays you can rent too. They really have antiques and you can get a lot of good deals if you just check out all the booths. They have a nice tea room also for those who need a break from shopping.
Montgomery Street Antique Mall is very easy to find right off the interstate at the Montgomery Street exit. It is right there on your right when you get off and there is plenty of parking, The mall is really big and you can wonder around for hours. It is VERY dark inside and sometimes hard to see what you are looking at. There are individual booths that are maintained by the person renting the space so you can find anything and everything in there. It is a true antique mall and really does have a lot of older pieces to be found. The prices differ from booth to booth and you just have to hunt down the good pieces for the good prices.
Antiques Treasure House is a little hard to find unless you know your way around Irving. I had to call twice for directions. They do have some really nice pieces of true antiques and a few reproductions. The prices seemed a little high for the pieces we were interested in but the shop was decorated and arranged very nicely and the woman working told us all she knew about the pieces we asked about. There is no parking and when you buy something you have to pull around to get it and it was not very convient.
This is one of my families favorite places to hunt out GOOD antiques. They are no longer at Loop 820 but are an exit down off of Denton HWY. They are in a bigger and nicer building. There are some great finds to be had there and you can just look around at all the booths for hours. The new tea room is amazing and has an antique bar that is wonderful. The food is very good and they run daily specials. It is one of the best places in the area to hunt out antiques.
I had to get a deer head mounted and I really didn't know anything about it or where to go. I found Game Trail in the phone book and from moment one- they were as nice as can be. They explained how I had to bring it in and what I had to do. I took it over and they helped me pick out how I wanted it posed and on what type of mount. I could never had figured all that stuff out myself. The price was more than I expected but I had never had it done before and from what everyone says- it was avereage for what I got done. They did a great job and the hunter was very surprised at how good it looked.
When the Vineyards Antique Mall opened a year or so ago I was excited to have another antique mall in town. At first they had a lot of booths that were antiques and you could even find a lot of primitive furniture there but not anymore. The whole place has turned into a craft and home decor mall. They even have booths that sell purses and kid clothes. They do have a wonderful restaurant where you can eat lunch or dinner but the mall should be renamed because it is not an antique mall.
I wanted to make a very nice wreath for a gift and couldn't find anything at any of the other stores in town. A friend told me about Norma Stone's and I was surprised when I got there. They have everything I needed. They have wire, wreath frames, flowers, tape, etc. The prices are average to high retail pricing but the quality of the silk flowers are wonderful. They look so real. The staff was really nice and helped me match colors and gave me some really helpful tips on putting my wreath together.
This is one small Sports store but they have one of the best and knowledgeable staffs around. I was looking for ski equipment and was told to go to Moutain Sports and I am glad I did because they have everything you need and take the time to show you how to use it. They also tell you what you really need and what you don't need. They don't just try to sell you everything for skiing that is in their store. I will go back everytime I need more ski equipment. They also carry climbing gear, snowboarding stuff, etc. Anything related to mountain sports.
