The College Football Hall of Fame a great place for a weekend family outing. They have exhibits that kids can actually participate in. Our local football team is Notre Dame and sometimes you can actually meet the players while they are touring the hall. Its nice to go back in time to remember college players of the past. The location is kind of cramped though.
Wheneve Kelly Services has called me for a job it is always something I have no idea how to do. One job I got through them lasted 9 hours. When you decline a job that you have no knowledge to do they will never call you for an assignment again. I even had my unemployment benefits suspended by them because they said I had refused a job because I had an interview for a permanent job that day and I wasn't going to miss it to work for a few hours. I won back my benefits. I would never recommend them to anybody looking for a job.
Peddlers Porch moved to Mishawaka from US 933 making it move convenient. They mostly sell stuffed collectibles and candles. I love to get the latest beanie babies here. The staff is very kind and doesn't hound you when you walk in the door.
My parents bought a trumpet for me when I started band in the 7th grade. They were able to make payments which was great. I still have it to this day and it sounds great. The staff will even give you a few lessons on your instrument for free. They also sell used instruments if you can't afford a new one. They also sell a wide assortment of sheet music and instrument accessories.
Mishawaka Rail Yard is a train lovers heaven. They are located in a old train depot on Main St. They staff is very friendly, not just out to make a sale. They sell a great selection of trains and accessories. I enjoyed going there as a kid because it was like a miniature wonderland! The sore is a Mishawaka landmark so I don't think they would ever move for more room. The parking is pretty good though.
Eberhard Petro is a very beautiful golf course for being in a little town. I have been there numerous times and it is fun to just putt around even though you don't know what your doing! It is located on St. Joe River and has a wonderful restaurant and a great pro shop. I also love Monkey Island that is located just beyond the course for picnicking.
I remember going to Parkers when it was across the street from the river. The old man that owned the store was very nice to the kids. You could scoop out your own worms which I thought was fun. Being across from the river was great too.
United Art is a great store to buy teaching supplies, gifts and even crafts. I remember my teachers always buying our classroom supplies there and they were always so fun. Now I love going there. They recently moved into a bigger building on Grape Road which makes them a little more visible.
Promed in Three Rivers is a very nice clinic. They have their own on-site lab and pharmacy. If you go to have blood work taken in the early morning, their is never any waiting. Donna, the receptionist is always friendly. They are located on a major highway which is convenient.
Doggie Drive Thru has some delicious cookies and other treats that my dog loves. They even bake custom doggie birthday cakes for your pampered pooch. They sell their cookies and cake at Pet Supplies Plus. Their prices are a little high but the treats are great.
