I liked this restaurant. The ambiance was intimate, the service was good, and the food was authentic. They have outdoor seating, too, which is great in the summer. Nice place fore lunch or dinner
PROS: authentic and good ambiance
CONS: non really
Umpqua Bank is an amazing place. I've rarely gone to a fund raiser that didn't have Umpqua Bank there, helping and serving every community they exist within.
PROS: Great community spirit
I bopped into Madena the other day while strolling in the Pearl. Madena is a new restaurant, specializing in Middle Eastern dishes, and it is delicious! I had a meat pie for $2.25 and it was scrumptuous! $2.25? When was the last time you got something for $2.25 in a restaurant! My friend got a sample plate of various dips and each one was special. I also had a bowl of lentil soup that was to die for.
PROS: No kidding here, this place is TOPS
CONS: It's kind of small ... but I hope they don't move!
Petco is a good company and their prices are always fair. If you go there consistently, it's a good idea to get a Petco card which gives you a small discount (5%? I think). The only problem I have with this particular Petco is that there is a curmudgeon who may be the owner or manager, and who tends to be a bit too negativistic for my taste. Every time I ask about an item that Petco doesn't have, he slanders the item! D'oh! I'd be happier with a simple, "I'm sorry, we don't carry that item" instead of feeling badly that I asked.
PROS: good stuff for good prices
CONS: Bit of a curmudgeon manages the store (or owns it?)
I love Urban Fauna for the great selection of toys and outfits one can buy for a pet. They actually have a woman who hand sews some of the most adorable puppy clothing you could ever want to see. They are a bit pricey, but the quality is good. They also have a Sunday small doggie play time for only $2.00. I used it extensively to help socialize my dog when she was a puppy. It might not be a bad idea for Urban Fauna to provide a Rewards Card for people who shop there frequently. It could help defray some of the cost for their more loyal clients.
PROS: Great selection
Amore is located at the corner of NW 10th and Johnson, in the heart of the Pearl District. I have never had an unhappy moment in this salon. Everyone, and I mean everyone is courteous and attentive to the needs of the customer. I love their flexibility! And they call you the day before your app't, which is good for folks who fail to write things down. In addition to the above, the services I've recieved there are top notch -- the services I've taken advantage of include hair coloring, pedi's and mani's, facials and hair removal. Oh yeah, I got a spray on tan once, too.
PROS: For me, I need not only skill in the handling of my person, but some TLC in
CONS: They may need a larger space some day.
