I visited the naturopathic doctor at Wellspring Naturopathic Clinic after a different doctor advised me to schedule surgery to remove my gall bladder. I'm young, so this didn't seem like a good idea to me. After a gall bladder/liver flush and some supplements, I haven't had any gall bladder attacks and am convinced that natural medicine is the way to go. She also takes notes as she talks to you, which is very helpful so that you can focus your attention on listening.
The Life Time Fitness in Eagan is very up-scale. The locker rooms are clean. There is a wide variety of work out equipment, and personal trainers to assist you with your questions. Life Time Fitness also offers a number of classes each day that you can drop in on (no extra charge and no need to sign up ahead of time or take additional classes). They also have some paid classes and swimming lessons available. Plus free child care. The monthly rates are reasonable too, especially for all the benefits!
We've both eaten there and gotten take out. The service for both is quick. The staff are sometimes a little hard to understand, so asking questions about the menu proves a little difficult sometimes. The food is good (just good, not particularly outstanding). Meal prices are reasonable. They are a good change of pace from your regular Asian restaurant.
I almost always get the wild rice and chicken noodle soup bread bowl and for good reason - it's absolutely the best around. (So are their pickles!) A long line can form at lunch time, but it moves quickly. The restaurant is decorated very nicely in warm tones - it's a very comfortable place to eat.
I always enjoy eating at Noodles & Company. I highly recommend the macaroni and cheese (with added chicken). The prices are great (around $5 for a bowl of noodles). There isn't a huge menu to choose from. The restaurant is clean and they prepare your food fast and bring it too your table. The food is pretty (noodle art?).
The Cherokee Sirloin Room has a birthday promotion for a free meal (steak I think?). All the food I've eaten there has been average. It has an odd atmosphere, dimmly lit and mostly older people (senior citizens). The service is hit or miss, sometimes we've been served promptly, and sometimes we've waited.
Jensen's Supper Club in Eagan sends out a lot of coupons, but even with coupons, they are still expensive. I had steak and seafood and for the price paid, I would have expected very, very good steak and seafood. But it was just average - the steaks I grill at home are better. It's a fancy atmosphere and the staff are prompt and courteous.
Bonfire in Eagan has wonderful wood fired pizzas! I also recommend the grilled salmon. It's an interesting atmosphere - there is this bull thing hanging from the ceiling above some tables that occasionally snorts steam. It's generally pretty noisy in there. The service is good. During peak dinner times, you may need to wait for a while for a table.
DirectBuy lures you into their showroom with a free visitor's pass and sometimes the added bonus of a restaurant gift certificate. You listen to the sales pitch and then "get to" talk to a high-pressure sales-person. They offer you the opportunity to buy home furnishings at wholesale prices. The membership cost is phenomenally high, but if you buy enough it actually is a good deal. We were able to get the high quality furniture that we wanted at a very good discount. The drawbacks are that you have to pay a percentage to DirectBuy and you have to pick-up and haul your furniture home yourself (or hire someone else). Unlike purchasing furniture in the store, though DirectBuy, you need to wait and wait for one or two months while the manufacturer ships to the DirectBuy warehouse. Looking through the manufacturer catalogs is very interesting (to see what the manufacturer's pricing is), but you won't necessarily be able to find exactly what you are looking for. Since you are just browsing catalogs, you generally have to call around to find somewhere local where you can then go to actually look at the furniture before you order it from DirectBuy. DirectBuy is an okay deal only if you are planning to buy a LOT of furnishings for your house.
Archivers in Apple Valley has walls and walls of stickers (and paper and stamps and punches). The pricing is reasonable. The staff are friendly and helpful. I was looking for a stamp pad to make hand prints of my baby's hands and a helpful Archivers employee helped me find a non-toxic, washable stamp pad.
