Always with great shot specials, lucky lous has a great atmosphere for the denton college crowd. They have three bars (one on the huge patio) so you are never waiting more than five minutes for a drink. The bartenders are very funny and always remember you. Never dead, this bar is a great place to meet up and have fun. Mondays is $2 mexican beer and $3 margaritas! can't beat that.
PROS: good atmosphere, lots of people
CONS: really smokey inside
My eyebrows were literally bleeding after a waxing done at this salon. The woman who was applying the wax was not very skillfull and applied the wax all over my lower lid. She also started to wax my upper lip without my consent. When I told her politely that I was not interested, she rolled her eyes at me. The wax they use is also not a very high quality wax. I just needed a quick fix but the horror of my red and bleeding eyebrows (for five hours afterwards) will keep me away for good.
My apartment complex was purchased by place to be in the middle of my lease. We received the new list of rules (no pets of any kind, even fish.) and were informed we must get parking stickers, even though we had signed a lease that stated stickers weren't necessary. After my car was towed, place to be refused to stop sending the tow trucks to the apts even thought legally, I was not required to purchase a parking sticker. When we moved out, they charged us $565 over our already $500 deposit for things that were wrong with the apt before we moved in. They charged us for leaves in the backyard, replacing all the carpet (which was four years old and needed to be replaced anyways.) After I threatened legal action they dropped the cost down to $300. I have avoided this management company since and tell all of my denton friends to avoid them as well.
I was so impressed by the photographer at prestige. He was very accomodating when I wanted to change outfits for my senior portraits. He used a variety of poses and backgrounds and always watched out for ever detail. He was very open to my suggestions, (where I wanted to put my hands, what props I wanted to use). A seven outfit portrait session only took about two hours and I ended up with over four hundred awesome pictures. It was a little expensive but you only graduate from high school once.
This school is too large for anyone really looking to learn from the professors. During my semester at this school I was identified even in class by my ID#. Many of my professors did not even reside in the denton area, let alone be accessible for questions. There was very little interaction with professors and students. The campus was also much too large to allow for you to be on time. Parking is also limited.
PROS: great students,
CONS: too big, bad parking
I have attended over four different colleges in my post-high school academic career and none have I loved so dearly as TWU. The professors not only know your name, but will e-mail you on a fairly regular basis. The staff and advisors are very friendly and helpful. There have been many times where i needed to get into a full class and have been able to. I am an english major, and because of the size of the school I have many of the same students in most of my classes. It helps to have such a close network of people.
PROS: small classes, excellent curriculum, smart and challenging professors
CONS: because of size it can't offer as many classes
It took over two months to get an appointment to see a dentist about my impacted wisdom teeth. When I went to the appointment I saw an actual dentist for maybe four minutes. The dentist did not even tell me any news about my teeth. The young assistant (who was a high school student, he informed me) told me I would have to schedule an appointment to have my teeth taken out. He left me with no information and on the way out the receptionist seemed annoyed by my questions about the referral for my insurance. A terrible experience in a very dirty dentists office.
CONS: dirty, rude staff, inexperienced workers, lack of communication.
I was so pleased by the service I got with the mobile hospital. They gave my cat, Isis, free flea medicine and it only took about twenty minutes and twenty dollars to give Isis her yearly shots. I also took Isis to the mobile vet to get neutered and she had to stay overnight, but when I came to get her in the morning she seemed just fine! Very pleased with the conveineince.
CONS: can't do full check ups
I went to Mr. Trantham after being suprised with two speeding tickets. For $100 Mr. Trantham contacted the courts and had my fine lowered from almost four hundred dollars with no chance of defensive driving or deffered ajudication to $200 and deferred disposition for only three months. All I had to do was send the court money and Mr. Trantham did the rest. Definately worth the money I spent to not have to deal with two pesky speeding tickets. The only thing that bothered me was he did not tell me what was going on until the end, so I spent a few months worrying wether or not it was taken care of.
PROS: small firm
CONS: communication was lacking.
I have visited the Trinity medical Center's Emergency room several times throughout my life. I have found they are almost always empty, where most other dallas hospitals have at least a three hour wait. My wait the past two times I had visited I only waited an hour. The staff was very accomodating and the nurses were very warm and friendly. They did not keep me waiting very long when I was in for a concussion and sent me on my way.
PROS: short wait, friendly staff
