This place is simply amazing by what it carries. It claims to carry "
We specialize in rare, out-of-print, independent, experimental, documentary, foreign, camp, gay/lesbian, cult, French New Wave, Italian horror, Tokyo Shock, Troma, Criterion, Exploitation, Film Noir" and more. And does it ever. Any movie i have ever tried to find has been carried here, even Chanwook Park's new release in theatres "Sympathy for Mr. Vengence". Excellent place, check it out sometime!
This is a fairly well know Lincoln Park area theatre. It's not too big nor small, and is quite good on quality of shows. I've been here a few times, and everytime I am suprised by how much I like the shows. It is right across the street from the Steppenwolf theatre, so if you have been there you know the area. Try seeing a show there sometime!
I've been to the planetarium quite a few times before, the most recent being when Loyola rented out the place and invited all honors students to visit. It was quite an event and a very nice place. It has great exhibits, planetarium shows, and an excellent location. I really find the building to be beautiful as well!
This is just an amazing theatre! It is in the Old Watertower building on Michigan Ave, and just is really cool looking! I attended their rendition of George Orwell's 1984. It was an excellent rendition of it, with all of the great themes intact. I dragged along two of my friends to see it, and both of them loved it too. Since then I've been to a few more shows, each one very good!
Check out this Theatre!
This theatre is quite good, and has an excellent selection of plays that it preforms! I've been to several and all of them have been excellent! Right now they have a really good show, a musical by the name of Purlie, which is simply fantastic! I would recommend this theatre to everone! Go see a play today!
The Riviera is another great live music venue in Chicago. Not only do they have a cool looking venue, they also have a great lineup of musicians to play there! In the upcoming months such great musicans as The Arcade Fire, Tracy Chapman, Guster, Coheed and Cambria, and Death Cab for Cutie! Pick a show and go!
This theatre has, and will have the Blue Man Group for a while! It is a great theatre, perfectly set up for the BMG show, and in a fun location. It is on Halsted about a block away from Belmont. Probably about 3 blocks from the Belmont Redline stop. Anyone who enjoys entertainment in general will enjoy the Blue Man Group!
This is a really cool place to see a concert! For the near future the only types of music that will be playing there will be Pop-Punk and Latino, but other types will be there soon! It is a great place to go to and enjoy music with friends! It's also an amazing old building from the mid-1920's (1926 to be exact!). Check it out!
I admit that I did not think that this place would be very interesting in the least, however, when I visited, i found it to be quite interesting and enlightening! While not for everyone, I think that anyone who enjoys history and art would love this museum! Go and check it out!
I'm not one for fish in general, but I find the Shedd Aquarium to be simply awesome! They have a great set of exhibits and live shows, and keep everyone's attention for the duration! It is a really cool place to see animals that are definately not native to Chicago! If you havent ever been, why don't you go!
