Don't go on weekends and busy times!! It's so difficult to skate when it's crowded, you just feel like you're stuck in traffic or stuck in the mall behind crowds of people on Christmas Eve! Ice skating is best when the rink is empty and you can go as fast as you like. Especially if you aren't very good at it, then you need to go when it's not crowded so that you can practice and learn without playing dodge the skaters.
Friday & Saturday nights are too crowded! I think the best time to go is a Sunday morning, It's cheaper and not as crowded. It's a great family outing and there is something for everyone. I love playing mini-golf with my husband, it's alot of fun, and then when you get bored of that, inside they have all the arcade games. I love the castle design most of all though, it's unique and it's a fun family outing for kids of any ages.
I like Pacific Park for the atmosphere, the arcade, the food, and the prize games. But NOT the rides. The rides are WAY too expensive and they aren't even that great. $20 gets you about 4 rides. It was only enough for my kids to ride the coaster 1 time and for my husband and I to ride the ferris wheel 1 time. After that it's just too much of a rip-off and my kids would rather play the prize games anyway. By the way, if you have a fear of heights, don't ride the ferris wheel at night! I was shaking the whole time because everything is black and you feel like you're going to plunge into the ocean - it goes so high and it was a bit scary. It was romantic also, but I was just too scared to notice lol
Cheap lanes but overpriced food and sodas, but then again, that's the same at any bowling alley. The facilities are pretty clean and the staff is nice and outgoing. It can get very crowded depending on when you go. Don't go on a Friday night or on a weekend night. I'm not sure what nights and hourst they have available to the public, but I would reccomend a Monday or Tuesday night if they are open. Weekends are too hectic and parking is usually full.
Growing up in Houston, I used to go to Laserquest with my church and had a whole lot of fun. I had always wanted to go again with my husband but I could never find the same type of place and the only Laserquest was far away. Then I found Ultrazone and I was thrilled to see it was in Alhambra. My husband, being a huge fan of action movies, Halo2 and paintball, LOVES this type of thing. I just discovered this place about a week ago, and I'm going to take him there next week. I can't wait either, it's a bunch of fun for kids or adults of any age. It's dark and you get to run around with laser guns and shoot everyone. Isn't this every boy's / man's fantasy?
I really don't see the big deal of this place. I guess if you're a tourist and you think it's something '"hollywood" to do but really its not worth the price and it's just wax figures? A movie is cheaper and lasts longer! Not to mention that it's really creepy.. Just reminds me of that Paris Hilton movie with the wax coming to life.. Just creepy, expensive, and not worth a minute of your time! Tourists, don't waste your time, this is not real Hollywood. There is no real Hollywood touristy place like the one that exists in everyones minds.
I love arcades, and it's not the biggest arcade out there, but at least it is close to my house in Glendale. They don't have that many of the new games though, mostly they just have old classics like Pacman and popular classic games like Area 51. It's a small space but they fit alot of games. Best for adults and teenagers, not really alot of the games that younger children like. Good hangout place for teens and college students.
My husband and I love this place. He loves the racing, and I love the mini-golf, bar/restaurant, and arcade games. The arcade isn't quite as spectacular as they make it sound on their website, but the racing is. They have four different racing tracks including drag racing and the biggest track you even need a DRIVERS LICENSE for. The other 2 tracks require drivers to be over 5 feet tall, and passengers still have to be pretty tall as well, so that means no kids, it's more of an adult place. The mini-golf was great, at night it's beautiful and romantic as well as fun.
Countrywide Home Loan really knows their mortgage. They helped my husband and I get a mortgage at an excellent rate. We were worried we would never be able to purchase a home but Countrywide helped us learn about the whole process and how to finance our first house purchase. They whole process was very confusing for us and they continued to be patient with us the entire time. If we hadn't stopped in here, we might have never bought a home and just given up.
My husbands company called Juan to do some painting for their main location. They had planned only on doing the outside, but since his prices were SO reasonable and the timeframe he quoted was so short, they decided to paint some of their offices also which hadn't been repainted in over 20 years! Juan did a great job with both the prepping and the painting. When I visited my husband at the office recently I couldn't believe the change I saw, the paint job looked AMAZING both inside and out.
