Jade's Bakery sells a large selection of Chinese baked goods. My wife goes there often to buy their pork buns and other baked goods which are all very good. Their birthday cakes are also pretty good, they are not too sweet. The staff there are also very friendly and their prices are inexpensive.
The Los Angeles Farmers Market is a historical location that was started by growers during the depression era where many sellers used to sell their wares many years ago. Today it is filled with many retail shops and restaurants. There are a lot of people that visit it every day and has become a popular tourist attraction in Los Angeles.
My daughter just started attending Chapman Elementary and we've had a wonderfull experience so far. Her teacher is challenging and encouraging. I appreciate all the support and resources that is provided at every level to achieve social and academic milestones. The students are also great. Chapman expects the best out of each student but also allows the kids to be kids.
I have a niece that attended North High School and graduated with flying colors. It is definitely a fantastic school with high academic standards. They have many varied extracurricular activities and a clean and safe environment for the students. Parents are very involved. It is a great starting point for students who wish to get into a great college
My brother has a son attending Hickory Elementary School. It is an excellent school with highly motivated teachers. They have a high number of parent involvement in the school and the student to teacher ratio is low. The school has been recognized for its community involvement as well.
I almost bought a pick-up truck from Carson Toyota a couple of years ago if my wife had not intervened. The sales person I dealt with was a really nice guy and was not pushy at all. He worked with me and got me a really good deal that I couldn't pass up but my wife wanted a Honda and woudn't budge so I ended up looking for a Honda vehicle instead.
An old friend of mine used to work at the South Bay Toyota for a few years before he moved out of state with his family. This is a pretty good dealership with a good sized lot of vehicles. What is even greater about them too is that I was told by my friend that they donate to local youth organizations as well which is impressive to me for a car dealership.
A friend of mine had brought his vehicle to the Airport Marina Honda service department for a brake service and after a couple of weeks he said he had a problem with his transmission. He took his car back to them and they said he needed a new transmission that would cost $4,000. I checked out his car and his transmission fluid was watery black. I helped him change it and now his car is running fine. Their service department are crooks.
The Harbor City Honda dealership is conveniently located right off the freeway. When I visited their lot a couple of years ago they had a lot of Filipino salespeople in their staff. They were a little pushy and it seemed to me like they were trying to get me to pay more than the other dealerships I had been in contact with. I didn't much like their tactics.
I had dealt with the Long Beach Honda dealership a few years ago when I was shopping for my Honda vehicle. I had actually contacted several dealerships to compare prices. This one is conveniently located just a short distance from the freeway and they have a pretty good collection of vehicles on their lot. The sales staff are okay, not too pushy. They were willing to work with me over the phone to get me a price but their prices were not competitive enough for me.
