Awesome sandwiches ... but I LOVE coming here for breakfast. Delisious omelettes. Staff is friendly, and the ecclectic decor is fun. Parking, as with any place in the Gaslamp can be tough.
Simple menu of sausage, meatball or eggplant sandwiches on big grinder rolls. Get the grilled onions and pepers on it too, and get a soda out of the cooler. It's no frills here, but the food is yummy. There are few tables inside, but most people take it to go.
Ranchos makes what I call California Fresh Mex. Lots of yummy ingredients like tofu and shitaake mushrooms. My favorite is the tofu scramble for breakfast and my husband love the pancakes. The cheese enchiladas with mole sauce are excellent. Staff is friendly, though a bit lax ... but perfect for the laid back neighborhood that it is located in.
Books, bags, packs, and accessories to get you set for any trip. Helpful staff is well-traveled. I enjoy their wide luggage selection, perfect for the adventurous backpacker or the business traveler. There is something for everyone.
Great prices on very fresh frutis and veggies. It's a nice plus that their organic selections are also expanding. Staff is friendly and helpful, and checkout lines move pretty quickly.
This store is a treat to shop in. Easy to manuver, and a nice selection of organic produce. Their selection of health and beauty items is also great. Staff is helpful, and the deli ROCKS!
If you like a bargain, this is the place for you. I've found great deals on dry goods and canned goods. Also, great prices on health and beauty basics (soaps, deoderant). Some of the holiday oriented items look really cheap and imported, but the name brand stuff that they get is a fabulous deal. If you go on the weekends, prepare to wait in a long line.
Just because a girl wants to find fabulous shoes at a great price, it does not mean she wants to stand in line for 20 minutes to pay. The good prices make up for the long wait. Also, this place always looks like a bomb went off. I don't know why customers are so messy in the store. They could use a liitle more staff to do "recovery" on the floor on a regular basis.
While I am only in my 30;s, it seems like the clothes in that store are designed for college students. Even their expensive "work line" is too trend-oriented for a conservative work place (think law office or high-end banking). As noted by other posters, the store is now smaller, and is packed with clothing. Staff is generally friendly, but I always feel like I have to find staff to be let into the fitting room. They should anticipate my needs a little more by offering to open a room for me and take my merchandise.
This has got to be the funnest way to wash your dog. While the wait can be a little long on the weekends, it's worth it. Staff takes all the hassle out of washing your dog, and they make your pooch feel extra special. Plus, I really appreciate the fact that the owners are active in the local community. The shop has a nice selection of dog toys too.
