The thing that I like the most about this library is that is has long hours! Most nights, they are opened until 9.00 at night. They are even open on sundays when they children are in school. They have prograpms for every age, inclusing toddler(book reading, songs, etc. They sometimes have art and crafts classes too.
This is one of the places that I would recommend if you live in or near Chicago or are visiting Chicgo. It's located at Navy Pier, downtown chicago. The whole experience is about 15 mintes long. They are open everyday, but at different times. This simulates the story of going back in time of various chicago events that took place in chicago. If you are familiar with 3d, you will know just how real this will seem! Adult is $10.00 and children is $8.00. Discount for a family though.
If you are interested in have a garden (any type), these people can help you. They offer landscaping services to anyone, no matter how big or small your desired project is. I thought that I could not enjoy the pleasures of a garden because of living in an apartment (i do have a balcony), but they can even make a balcony beutiful. They seem to be very professional.
If you live in chiago, or the surrounding suburbs or are going to visit chicgo, i would recommend that you visit this theater if you are into the fine arts. I can reall tell that a lot of money was put into this place. As the name suggests, Shakespeare, there will be plays such as macbeth. If this is your style, please visit here. If it is not ;your style, you will definately be bored to death.
Whether you live in chicago, or are going to visit chicago, I would highly recommend taking a least on cruise on the spirit of chicago. I've taken this cruise several times...this let's you know how much I like it. To me, it is very relaxing. You get to see just how beautiful downtown chicago is. There is entertainment (you can paticipate if you want to..I just watch everyone else..ha ha) and there is food. There is also the top deck where the view is even better.
My friend surprised me by taking me on a ride on the Seadog Speed Boats Rides and I will never forget it. Initially, I was scared because I'm more the laid back type, but I really enjoyed it. It is a boat ride that goes really fast and it is located at Navy Pier, down town Chicago. If you're not the scary type, take a ride. If not, skip this ride. Also, take a comb or brush...your hair will thank you!
This place is located at Navy Pier (the place that has so many things to do in one area of down town)in Chicago. They advertise that the whole experience takes about 15 minutes, but , in my opinion, it depends on how fast you can find your way around. Take your time and enjoy. This is basically a maze that that has lights, sounds, twirls, twists, etc. Lots of fun.
This place is the bomb (a really nice place to visit!) This is a factory tour to see how Kellogg's makes thier cereal. You will learn about the history of Kelloggs, the company that makes cereal. There are actual hands on exhibits. There is a store with a lot of the kelloggs logos type items. The best thing to me is that your face can actually be on a ceral box. They are open everyday. Really nice!
This is the park district that is closest to me. Everytime I look at the new cataloge, I am a bit disappointed. Of course, they do cater to children more than they do they adults. So, If you have children, chances are, you will find a larger variety of things to choose from. I notice they they mostly offer sports for the adults, so, if you are athletic, you will be happy. I wish they offered more things such as arts and crafts stuff for those who need to sit down. To me, the prices are a little high for a park district.
I have shopped at Family christian Store for many years and I love it! They have a huge assortment of items for those looking for spiritual and / or Godly reference items. They have music, books (bibles, dictionaries, fiction, non-fiction, etc). They even offer good books that were written several years ago such as Pilgrims Progress. They have book marks, pens, pencils, cards...You Just name it. They are friendly. They offer coupons...That's up my ally because I'm the coupon QUEEN!
