This is a great little chinese eatery which serves the BEST chinese sausages hands down!! It is only like 2.50 also! Get that with some pork chop rice and you are in heaven!! Also their chicken leg combination plate is extremely good as well!!Definitely a great authentic chinese eatery. You will not be disappointed. I guarantee it!
This has got to be my favorite place to go to when I am craving Teriyaki!! My personal favorite is the Beef teriyaki plate (LARGE of course). Remember to ask for fried rice (it doesn't cost extra)!! They serve a mound of beef on top of a mixture of fried rice and fried noodles. It is out of this world! Also, it's only around 5 bucks. Totally recommend this place!
I used to always go to this local tennis store to get all my rackets strung and I must say they do a great job!! They always have strung my rackets very quickly and even will put a logo on your strings if you ask them to! They also have other regular tennis gear for sale (shoes, shirts, shorts) etc, but they are at retail prices. However, their services such as stringing rackets is very well priced and great!
I recently went to Embassy to shoot some pool and was quite disappointed in the quality of pool tables and cues. The table had a very sligh tilt to it so the balls did not travel evenly. Some of the cues were also damages a little and definitely affected my game that day. They should invest in some higher quality equipment if they want to quality pool players to visit their establishment. Definitely go somewhere else.
This has got to be my favorite burrito stand of all time!! It serves up great authentic mexican food really quickly!! In particular, the steak picado burrito is out of this world! For only around 5 dollars, you get an enormous burrito. Be sure to get extra hot sauce (their hot sauce is great as well!). They also have a drive thru if you are in a rush. Check this place out! You won't regret it!
This is a pretty good mexican food joint in San Gabriel. It is a very small place, but does serve up some pretty good burritos. Definitely try the carne asada burrito if you go there. It is great tasting, however, i think it could be a bit bigger. Prices are regular (around 4-5 dollars for a burrito). They also have drive thru if you are in a rush!!
This is a small little restaurant in San Marino, CA. It has be BEST curry fries on earth. You must try it to believe it. Best of all, it is extremely affordable (less than 5 dollars). They also have lots of teriyaki bowls and burgers of course. However, if you only order one thing when you go, it HAS to be the curry fries. They are out of this world!
I loved this SAT prep center!! Definitely take the verbal course with Paul. He's the best!! He knows EXACTLY what he is talking about and knows the SAT verbal like the back of his hand. He teaches you efficient and effective techniques for reading and answering the questions. Plus, hes a really nice guy!! He also helps his students with college applications and essays. Just a great place overall!! Highly recommend it!
ACI institute is a relatively well known education center that prepares high school students for the SAT. They have a very rigorous program, and force you to do your homework, or they will put you in detention!! They definitely have issues with their management (Cathy in particular). They treat the students there like little children and are way too strict on them. The classes are just OK. I believe that you could do just as well if you were disciplined and studied for the SAT on your own. Nothing special about this establishment.
This is a great place to stop in for a quick barbershop type haircut. La (the owner) is a really nice man, but his english is definitely limited. He typically speaks chinese/cantonese to his clients so be aware of this before you go in. He definitely can speak english, but it might be a little harder to convey exactly what kind of haircut you want to him. He cuts hair fairly quickly and does a pretty good job. Plus, it's only 9 dollars for a cut!!
