Gogo Sushi
I did not like this restaurant very much because of the mediocre sushi and the cheap feel of the restaurant. There is a huge conveyor belt in the middle of the restaurant that carts around sushi and other items and customers can just take what they want. I do not like the idea that the sushi is not made in front of me, so I do not know how long the sushi has been going around in circles on the contraption for. The portions are relatively small, and taste like sushi that you would purchase from a package in the supermarket. The only thing that is good about this restaurant is the price. It's extremely cheap. Only 2 dollars per roll, but I would definitely rather pay more for better quality food.
Peppers Mexican Restaurant
This is definitely a great mexican restaurant. The feel you get right when you walk into the restaurant is a feeling of mexican authenticity. The servers promptly serve you with complimentary chips and salsa right when you are seated and are very polite. The food is also great too!! My favorite is the cheese enchilada combination. It is a HUGE amount of food for a reasonable price (less than 10 dollars). If you are in the mood for some great mexican food, definitely check out Pepper's!
Maria's Fashion
Maria's is a relatively well-known place to get designer clothing at discounted prices. They carry such high end brands such as Diesel, Seven for all Mankind, Paper Denim & Cloth, etc. However, be aware that some of their jeans might be second hand jeans or defective items. Definitely inspect your jeans throughly before purchasing as there are no returns of exchanges. And best of all, if you pay with cash, you don't pay tax!! and you also get a 5 dollar discount!
Lee's Sandwich Shop
Lee's is a classic place to get GREAT vietnamese style sandwiches. They always make their own bread (baguettes) everyday and serve all their sandwiches on that fresh bread. I recommend ordereing the pork sandwich. It is FANTASTIC!! The best part is, it is INCREDIBLY cheap!! A big 12 inch sandwich will only set you back......around 2 dollars!! It is definitely the best deal in town!
Pho 54 Vietnamese Restaurant
If you like Pho (vietnamese type noodles), then you should definitely try Pho 54. It is a small, classic type vietnamese restaurant that serves pretty good Pho. I personally thought that the tripe (cow intestines) that they put in your noodle soup was disgusting, but others seem to like it a lot! So I guess it is all about your own personal tastes. The service is descent there; the servers speak limited english, so it may be a little hard to communicate with them. However, it shouldn't be a major problem and you should be able to order fairly easily. I would recommend the regular beef pho or their beef sandwiches.
Matt Denny's Alehouse Restaurant
I thought this place was just satisfactory. The restaruant just looks and feels like any other bar-type restaurant establishment. The food was just as average. I ordered the tri-tip sandwich. While it was extremely big, the taste was just bland to me. I had to add salt and other condiments for it to taste better. Overall, this place is just average to me.
Carmine's Italian Restaurant
This is a very nice, home-style italian restaurant located on the southern side of Arcadia. The environment and service is great! The servers and the restaurant itself make you feel right at home. However, I was less impressed with the food. I ordered the eggplant (usually a big fan of egglant), but it was quite dry and not very tasty at all. However, my date ordered the chicken alfredo and it was quite good! Overall, pretty good place to stop in and grab a nice little italian dinner.
Mimi's Cafe
The thing I like about Mimi's Cafe is their food. Their carrot cake is OUT OF THIS WORLD!! (and best part is, it's free with any entree!!). Their soups are very good as well (especially the corn chowder). However, their service can be less that satisfactory at times. The last time I went there, I had to wait over 45 minutes because the host forgot to write my name on the list. When he realized the mistake, he didn't even move me to the top! He made my party wait for another 15 minutes. That definitely was not great service. However, other times I have been to the establishment, the service has been ok.
May Mei Restaurant Inc
This is a great little chinese restaurant in the center of Arcadia, CA and is perfect if you just want to stop in quickly for a quick bite. It is by no means a fancy chinese restaurant. It is just a nice relaxing little eatery. The restaurant itself is quite small (only holds around 20 people), but the food definitely makes up for it. The pork fried rice tastes great (and under 5 dollars, it is a great deal as well!). Best thing is, you can easily order your food to go so you can take it home!!
Monrovia Pizza Co
This place serves great pizza! It's that simple! Unlike the numerous fast food pizza joints such as pizza hut and dominoes, Monrovia Pizza Company serves great home-style pizza that doesn't taste like ordinary fast food pizza. The great thing also is their prices! The prices are relatively competitive with the fast food pizza prices, and definitely taste better too! Try the Pepperoni pizza!! It's definitely one of their best pizzas.
