The Clothes Horse is an upscale resale shop in the heart of Dallas. The shop is very picky about the clothes they will accept. Unless they are high value labels like St. John's, or Ferragamo I would think twice about trying to sell things there.
The clothes they do accept I have always been happy with the price they get for them. Once you initially drop off the clothes you will just receive a check in the mail and they donate the unsold items to a women's shelter. You havge the choice to pick up the clothes after 50 days though. Easy place to sale upscale clothes.
PROS: only requires one trip for everything
CONS: too picky in selection process
Glenview Christian School is a great value for the education you get. Tuition is the most reasonable in the metroplex. They use the Abeka curriculm, and class size is usually 18 or less. They teach conservative Christain values and are associated with the Southern Baptist Convention as classes are held on the campus of Glenview Baptist Church. There is no hidden additional expense like books or uniforms. The parent involvement in the school makes all the difference. Glenview is such a great school that we commute 25 one way for our children to attend.
PROS: cost, values, education
This salon is geared towards children. The haircuts are moderately priced at around 15 dollars. The salon has a rewards program that allows you to get a discount after a few haircuts. The stylists are great and interact well with children. The stylists provide a good haircut while still being time conscious for the little ones that have a hard time sitting still. They feature videos like Barney or video games to help keep the kids enertained. They have a great waiting room with legos, trains and other toys. They accept walkins or take appointments. This is the best place I have found to get a haircut for children.
We have used this company for oil changes for a while. They have great service. They will clean the car and have never had a problem with the oil like overfilling. They have a clean waiting room with toys. They are also great about informing you on the maintenace suggestions for your car but are not pushy when you decline them. They are in a great location right off the freeway. They have performed the oil changes in less then 30 minutes both times we have gone there. The oil change was a little more than other places but well worth it for the convenience and service.
PROS: location and service
We went for a haircut using their advertised $4.95 special. The salon looks like a bad chuck e cheese upon entrance. They want you to buy tokens for your kids to play their games. The kids earn tickets for cheap prices. Anyone with kids will probably have to spend some money on bad games before they can leave.
The stylist also smelled like smoke and did not interact well with the kids. Haircut was adequate although she did not understand the directions I gave her about cutting my little girls hair with the part in the center.
Overall the I would not go back. Other chains in the area do a much better job. I still do not like entering an environment that they want you to spend money on games when all I want is good haircut for my kids.
CONS: game environment
This store has great customer service with a knowledgeable staff. They will test your pool water for you and give you all the necessary information to care for your pool. The staff is informative but not pushy. You can get all your pool needs in one spot. The prices on the chemicals are average. The prices on the pool extras like floats and things are somewhat high.
There are coupons they advertise that will allow you to get a book that has alot of information to help in the care and upkeep of your pool.
CONS: price of extras
This store is conveniently located right off of Highway 121 and Hall-Johnson. The store ran a coupon advertisement in the val-pak for five dollars off any purchase. The store is small in area but organized nicely. They had a wide selection of books, clothing, toys and knick knacks. The store personnel were very friendly. Prices were average. You could find better deals elsewhere if you are willing to look. I found the store great for purchases that need to be made in person or for browsing. I prefer this store to LIfeway because of the convenient location.
This restautant offers delivery in our area without a fee. This is nice because other chains charge to deliver to the southeast part of Grapevine. The pizza is adequate. They specialize in pizza that is not round. In order to do this the crust is very thin. The toppings were only average. The sausage was a little crumbly and not very tasty.
The chain does have good delivery service and a reasonably priced product. The food itself is just not that great.
The Fort Worth Zoo is a great family excursion or place to take the kids on a regular basis. If you choose to frequent the zoo take advantage and get a zoo membership. This way you do not have to pay for parking, entrance fess and get the train ride for half price. We do this because with small kids the zoo is too large to do in one outing.
The zoo has amazing animal attractions. The primate house is one or our favorites. The meer cats are also a favorite as the kids can get up close and see the tunnels and animals.
The zoo has recently added Texas wild. I thought this area was good but geared more told older kids (5+).
The zoo allows you to bring in drinks and food as long as they are plastic bottles like gatorade. I suggest this because the food is very over priced.
PROS: animal exhibity
CONS: food prices
