We took our car to Insta Tune for a Smog Check, but they also do oil changes, brakes, and things like that. The way it is set up you drive into the back of the garage and out the front when you are done. When we were there one bay of the garage was dedicated to the smog checks and we waited in line in our car. No complaints about the smog check- they were fast and efficient.
We never got any repairs done by Waters Body & Paint, but we got estimates for insurance here several times. The estimates seemed fair, and the service was friendly and efficient. The shop looked like it was well run. Estimates were always completed by the promised date. We would definitely come here for estimates again, although I hope we don't have the need- I hate accidents!
Santa Clarita Valley Living Magazine is a publication that is mailed free to Santa Clarita Residents. It's gotten to be quite a thick magazine over the years. It's a good source for photos of local charity events and schedules of local club meetings, plays, and shows. If you're a local business, it's a great place to advertise your business. There are often articles of local businesses of interest.
Party City has a good selection of party supplies, and is a good bet for finding what you need, whatever your party theme is. This in the same shopping center as Michael's craft store too, in case you're planning on being a bit creative with your decorations, like I often do. Prices are average for a party store.
Dinks has great bagels, although less varieties than many bagel shops. They have great sandwiches and the fries are temptingly good. Sides are included with each sandwich order. They have a good variety of coffees and tables inside and outside. The bakery case is full of tempting cakes, cookies, tarts, and more.
We needed a belt for our vacuum cleaner a while back, and B&L Vacuum & Sewing Center was a convenient place to get it. They had the part in stock, and our only complaint was that they made us buy two belts when all we needed was one. Still, it was cheaper than buying the belt over the internet because the internet sources charged for shipping.
The first time we went to Siam Rice I we were asked if we had been there before, and when we answered no, boy were we given royal treatment! The owner recommended some dishes to order, including one that is now my favorite. It's the chicken satay, which is an appetizer of chicken on a stick, with a delicious peanut dipping sauce. Siam Rice is a small restaurant, they have a sister restaurant on San Fernando Road called Siam Rice II.
Moon Wok- I love that name. This restaurant has a brisk lunch business on weekends- I guess a lot of other people like their food besides me. If you want a tasty vegetarian dish try to Buddha's Delight, full of tasty vegetables with a nice sauce. Moon Wok is on Cinema Drive in the shopping center that has Fat Burger and Maria's Italian Restaurant.
Great Clips is a good place to get an inexpensive hair cut. Keep an eye out for coupons and you can save even more. There's no appointment needed and the price is a little bit cheaper than SuperCuts or Fantastic Sams. In my opinion, the cut I get is on a par with either of those franchises.
A friend recommended Dr Green to me and I was quite happy with him at my first visit. Six months later for my next routine visit I was surprised to find when I got to the office that my appointment was not with Dr Green, but with his coworker (sorry, I don't remember his name). The coworker wanted to give me multiple fillings (without any x-rays), which I declined. After that I changed dentists and none of those teeth have required fillings. My recommendation: insist that all of your appointments be with Dr Green ONLY.
