Don't get me wrong, the toys Cheeky Monkeys is selling are very unqiue and can't be found in big box retailers.
The only problem is they don't have much because their store is so small.
If you go in, and ask for something, don't be shocked if they do not have it.
Very friendly staff, and the toys in the store really appeal to kids under the age of...three :)
PROS: Unique one of a kind toys
CONS: I wish they had more to choose from
I have been a long time customer of Nutritional Warehouse, and find their prices and selection to be the best in the city.
Whether you are looking for protein powder, multi-vitamins, creatine, nutraceutical pills, or even a bikini, this store has it all.
The guys working here have great info on what they are selling, and it shows.
It is across the street from Muscle Fitness that just shut down their doors. I am telling you, this store was much better it has been a local staple for years
PROS: They sell Whey and Protein Shakes for a Nice Discount
CONS: Parking is impossible to find on Main Street
The playhouse is a non-profit and a local favorite. Not only do they have professional actors and actresses in shows periodically, the Playhouse also serves as a community center.
They have workshops (acting) that anyone can join, and also rent out the facility to interested people.
Over the years, I have been to several productions, and I was delighted to see such great acting coming out of kids and adults alike.
PROS: Great Productions, Tickets are Inexpensive
CONS: The Theater is rather small
I have a weird fetish with candy bars outside the United States. Nothing is more delightful than having candy from England, and Ye Olde Kings Head has over 50-60 selections.
The store also has little pots and pans, but I really do not pay much attention to that.
It was made infamous when the Ozzy Osborne came and bought $700 bucks worth of candy from the store.
You need to check it out.
PROS: The Best Selection of British Candy this side of the Pacific
CONS: Store is extremely small and cramped
This store has a comprehensive array of items that you would only find in the Southwest.
They sell cowboy hats, cowboy boots, ostentatious turquoise belts, and even panchos!
Western gets large crowds now that country is in, with the LA scene.
If one needs to get a hat, or a belt buckle in Santa Monica, this is the best place to go.
PROS: Great Array of Belt Buckles and Native American Accessories
CONS: Store has employees that look tired and bored (can't blame them)
Sur La Table has a fantastic selection of everything that you can dream of for your kitchen. I love their brass pots, and enjoy the fact that they sell some excellent olive oil that is second to none.
The store is pricier than most, but the catalog can not be emulated elsewhere, as most of their products are of European decent.
It is better than Crate and Barrel in my opinion
PROS: Everything you need to stock the Kitchen
CONS: Very few associates work outside the register
Even though my girlfriend hates the fact that I smoke a cigar once a month, Lone Wolf is where I go to get my box of La Flora's.
The owner is very smart and has given me a lot of great cigars to try over the year.
They also get you specific cigars if they do not have any in stock.
PROS: Great Selection, Competitive Prices, Wonderful Aroma
CONS: I just wish pre-embargo Cubans would cost less!
For a person like me who has flat feet and is always prone to injury, Top to Top is a life saver.
The associates working there took exact dimensions of the size and width of my feet and decided to give me a few pairs to try on.
After being there for an hour, I found the right match.
The price of the shoes may be more expensive compared to stores like Foot Locker, but its worth it given the service.
PROS: Excellent Service, Great Selection of Running Shoes
CONS: Wish They Had a Better Assortment of Sweat Pants!
The owners of the store are an Asian couple, and they have been terrific with me ever since I have been shopping there for my supplements.
The store has a wide variety of multivitamins, and pills for almost any occasion.
Inside, it feels a little damp, but I am telling you, they have great service.
PROS: Privately Owned Store, Great Selection of Multivitamins
CONS: May Be Closing Soon Due to Increase in Rent
I used to be a member of this gym, and its now difficult going back to 24 Hour Fitness.
They have a great assortment of elliptical machines, and the free weights looked and felt brand new.
The people working out alongside you are also hot! The club costs more than a $100 bucks a month, and most of the accounts are corporate.
PROS: The latest treadmills and elliptical machines can be found
CONS: Will cost a person over $100 a month to be a member
