Anyone visiting Seattle really should go up in the Space Needle. It used to be pretty cheap, but prices have continually gone up and now it can be a bit spendy. Still, its a fun thing to do and to say you've done. The Space Needle is the biggest landmark in Seattle, so obviously it can get busy during tourist season, so try to go on weekdays or a different season that summer. You'll love the view and the restaurant in the middle is awesome!
When I first started drumming, I took lessons from a guy here and I loved it. They had great instructors and were a decent sized store with good products. I guess they've moved since then and have become smaller and more expensive. Its too bad, because they were the only music store in Auburn and were a great alternative to bigger stores further away. I'd still check them out for small ticket items.
West Campus is a typical small music store. Small selection of everything, nice staff and fairly expensive prices. They can't afford to compete in prices with the likes of Guitar Center, so don't expect to get a steal except once in a while. I would shop here if I needed something quick or needed an inexpensive item and this store was the closest. If you're looking for a big ticket item, give them a shot, but definitely check out Guitar Center and others too.
This place always has a ton of used music to choose from. They also have some videos, dvd's and games from all platforms. Their prices are usually pretty fair, and are a good deal compared to buying new. Before you buy a new CD, I would check this place and see if they have it cheaper. The people that work here are pretty music-savvy, but they are also usually the heavy-rock types, so their opinions may not help some.
While the outside of this place may look ridiculous, it is fun to see at least once. There is an interesting museum of music artifacts, displays where you can play all sorts of instruments and a couple of rides that are pretty cool. It can get busy during touristy times and on weekends, so make sure to go during an off time. Also, sometimes they have good concerts, so check their schedule for those. The EMP is right by the Seattle Center and the Space Needle, so if you're a tourist, you won't be able to miss it.
This is a cool used game store. They have all kinds of systems and games and the prices are usually pretty cheap. I used to buy games here for my Nintendo 64 and my friends would buy games for GameCube, Nintendo and Sega Genesis. They always have a couple of games that you can demo to see if you want to buy them. Their staff is also really nice and eager to help you pick out good games or consoles.
The optometrist is very nice and does a great job. Everyone that works here is friendly and helpful. They don't have a great selection of eyewear, but I've never shopped for glasses here, just gotten eye exams and contacts. You should definitely check this place out if you live in the Twin Lakes area and you need an eye exam or new contacts.
This is a fairly large recruiter. They post a lot of jobs online like Business Careers. Both of them post standard jobs online and don't necessarily interview you for that position. They have you come in, do a general interview with a recruiter, maybe take an assessment or two and then tell you they'll look for jobs. I only ever got one referral from them and it was for a job I had already applied for. They aren't good at keeping you updated with new jobs. I definitely wouldn't rely on them to find you a job, just use them to supplement your job search.
They have several of these small offices all over the Puget Sound. They don't have a lot of jobs and aren't nearly as technologically advanced as other recruiters. They were sort of unorganized when I came in to interview for a job. The position they had posted on the internet wasn't the one they were interviewing me for. The job description had changed, so I didn't even end up interviewing for it. I suggest working with other recruiters in the area and if you see a job you really want, use these guys as a supplement.
This company is run by very friendly and caring people who care if you find a good job and not just if they're making money. All of their employees I've come in contact with are very professional and friendly. They don't have a huge selection of job openings many times, but they do a good job at contacting you when new ones come up that match your interests. I would recommend that if you're looking for a job, you contact Another Source and use them as one source to find your new job.
