Ever since I could remember, myself as well as several colleagues always admired South High for what is and was a bright, vibrant culture complete from an academia standpoint all the way up to a social one.
Located not too far from the beach, South seemed to always excel in the annual Academic Decathalon competitions and nearly every football game we would read about. Often during ASB related visits a colleague and I used to chat with faculty and administrators in a range of topics and I often found myself attending their plays and band concerts.
Perhaps in all of the South Bay, South High DOES have the greatest High School band I've heard.
Electric Lotus is an awkwardly situated dining experience. Located in a not-so posh locale of Downtown LA, the inside of the venue itself is an eclectic combination of European and Indian culture.
To the unsuspecting Caucasian or otherwise non-Indian individual, the cuisine is - refreshing. As an Indian American with a history of attending fine *Indian* cuisine, I must say that Electric Lotus is not up to par with other, less lavish, restaurants in the area.
That said, Electric Lotus is certainly worth a try - perhaps its just my picky, seasoned tongue that affords the caustic review.
Overall, the food is my only gripe. The atmosphere is excellent, the bar is fully stocked, they have a wonderful dance floor upstairs with an on site house mixer, and a staff that speaks English.
PROS: Excellent Atmosphere, Friendly Staffing
CONS: Mediocore Food
Valentinos truely is a mom & pop pizzaria with a BIG heart. Their cuisine is unrivaled in terms of other South Bay pizzarias.
A full, creative menu affords Valentinos a name in Hollywood stardom - it's a favorite of such celebrites as Jay Leno, who can often be spotted here saturday nights before his gig at the Comedy & Magic Club.
The staffing is exceptional to say the least. Do your self a favor and stop by.
PROS: Great Food, Friendly, Local, Cheap
Frying Fish is by far the greatest find I've ever uncovered in Los Angeles. For a sushi bar, it is certainly unsurpassed by any of the many, MANY imitations loitering about the county.
The chefs are capable of nearly everything, it seems. On the conveyor belt like dealy that circulates the bar with non stop one can engage themselves with countless choices of fresh fish, rice, and the likes. Supposing the amazing contraption doesn't tickle your fancy, feel free to ask the chefs for exactly what you want!
Prices are reasonable, the location is very nice.
For an all out Japanese excursion, just loiter about the Japanese Village Plaza - Complete with fine bakeries, clothing and music shops, etc.
PROS: Prices, Location, Friendly
CONS: Far from most residences
During my High School years I had to pay for my own car, gas, and even repairs! After venting to a friend, they reffered me here to Steves'.
Steve was able to totally refurbish my 20 year old BMW to almost perfect condition! He not only was able to give me incredible discounts on used parts, but also save me gas by fixing abunch of engine dealys that had gone bad and were otherwise outdated.
My friends especially thank him for repairing the seats in the back - people used to literally sink into the car, but now they're just as comfortable as me!
Throughout my years in High School I was constantly under pressure from my friends to delve into the breathtaking world of Paint Ball.
After much Hesitation, I gave EzMoney a call and quickly they helped guide me into the paintball world and I haven't been happier since.
Their prices are fare and their selection is incredible. They even have their own paintballing team! After a few years of experience they finally let me join and we have meets once a month.
A great feature EzMoney offers is that you can even rent a gun before buying it - very helpful because guns are like suits, they have to fit just right.
Remember, SAFTEY is the best policy! Make sure you pick up a mask and helmet with your gun!
PROS: Service, Selection, Accomadations,
CONS: Long drive
In my ongoing search to find the perfect computer chair for my office, I once made a rendevous at the Relax The Back store after a recomendation from a friend.
Their selection is unsurpassed and exceptional, however their prices are equally immaculate.
Rather than going to the Relax the Back store for the sake of purchasing the chair, instead go for the sake of admiring the chairs and expanding your visions - then simly write down the model #s and look online!
Prices on the world wide web are far less mouth dropping, however the only predicament would be the inability to test the product, which is where the Relax the Back store comes in.
Their staff is friendly and courteous and their store is often very empty - perhaps perspective clients are driven away by the ridiculous prices.
Certainly worth a check out.
PROS: Great Selection, Friendly Service
CONS: Incredibly Pricey!
As a very well qualified network and computer technician myself, I must say that Computer Geeks certainly meets my standards in terms of cost/benefit analysis.
An affordable outlet for those with no where else to turn, Computer Geeks provides valuable help and support for n00bs (novices) looking to just get their system up and running.
Their rates are incredibly competitive and they always try not to overcharge their clients.
Staffing is friendly and experienced - nothing like the dummies at Compusa and Worst[best] Buy.
PROS: Friendly, Great Prices, Well Located
Let me begin by saying that my apparel gets VERY hungry. Flair is almost like their dietician - whenever I find myself feeding them too much ( generally coffee) Flair cleaners is always able to promptly remove my stains and do so without hassle.
Recently, I've enrolled myself in their premium drive-thru service. This makes picking up a breeze. Although their are many cleaners out there, stick to Flair and Debonaire ( see my review).
You may be asking why I claim Flair is world famous. Well, its because I often forget my flair hangers in hotels around the world when i'm out for business. So I figure theres a house-keeper in nearly every counry of the Eastern Euoropean Block thats at least glanced at a Flair labelled hanger. (They're actually real hangers too! No flimsy wires like the other guys).
PROS: Quick, affordable,
To start off, let me just say that I am no lawyer and have absuloutly no mind for how the judicial system works. Therefore, of course I gave Patricia a call.
Unfortunatly, this was to my dismay. Her approach is strictly an experienced one and she knows exactly what shes talking about - but not in lamens terms.
As a novice to the trademark / patent field I felt lost and confused every step of the way, however often found her other clients very satisfied by their experiences ( bear in mind, these clients were seasoned businessmen and women).
To the novices, take my advice and look elsewhere.
PROS: Knowledgable, kind
CONS: Only for the experienced
