This consignment store for kids has clothing, toys, books, and just added recently, a furniture room. The prices are very reasonable and there's always something new (I live nearby andI'm in all the time). They put out a $1 rack all the time--any item on it is just a dollar. They also carry crib bedding and things like baby carriers--just a really nice variety and selection.
We moved to the area recently and needed everything for our new house. We used Meserve for our washer/dryer and they were so incredibly helpful compared to the huge superstores we had gone to. They stand by their merchandise too. I like the idea of doing business locally, and these guys haven't let us down-
Stop into Les Olivades and you will find SOMETHING unique for that person! This shop is stocked with some of the most unique items I've seen in any gift store. Glassware, holiday decor, fine linens, and clothing are among the few catagories you'll find here. The owner travels alot and finds many neat things to stock her store with. A must go-to for the holidays. Have your gift wrapped in their signature red and white striped paper with green ribbon--beautiful!
...than Westwinds. Wide selection of books, cards, and novelty items, with frequent readings and book signings by both local and not-so-local authors. The staff is the biggest asset--you can describe what you're looking for in a book and they will direct you to the perfect one! Giftwrapping is provided as well. Really a gem.
This store is jam packed with merchandise; however, they don't seem to be too choosy about what they put out on the racks. Most of the stuff I picked through had obvious wear and tear. I've found much better stuff at garage sales.
Beach Plums is in affluent Norwell, and has a great selection of top brand name clothes for women and men. I've seen everything from beachwear to wedding gowns here. The really 'elite' brands are priced accordingly, but still a bargain when you compare to retail. THey always seem to have a great number of shoes for women, and many accessories. You can really put together an outfit here, from top to bottom. Nice service as well.
This store is located across the hallway from Kids Closet, a children's consignment store, and they are a great one-two punch. Twice as Nice has HUGE selection of women's clothes, shoes, maternity items, jewelry. Reasonable prices, and GREAT sales. A little crowded, but just because there's so much stuff to look at.
Kids Closet has everything--kids' clothes from newborn to school age, toys, books, videos, baby equipment. This year, we even got our Halloween costumes here. Her prices are great and her service is terrific. At the end of each season there are big sales, culminating in "fill a bag for $10" type sales. I go here at least twice a month and never come out empty handed.
One downside--hard to park around this place, and hard to get back out into traffic onto Route 53. I find that it's worth the trouble though.
This thrift store has a decent selection of mainly women's clothing (some kids' stuff and housewares thrown in, but not much to choose from). The prices are a little high for a thrift, but being in Duxbury, the qualityh's usually pretty good. Proceeds go to scholarships for the high school in town. The help is iffy--some good, some clueless--but it's run by volunteers so you really can't complain.
Yes, this store is a consignment store. Yes, it has a great selection. HOWEVER, if you are looking for a deal, go somewhere else. This place has top-shelf prices to the point of ridiculousness. It's one thing to pay a fortune for a unique antique item, and another all together to list someone's old sofa set at a 'like new' price! Don't waste your time!!!!
