Polka Dot cakes are come in bite size and regular size snacks. They also have really weird names such as the Brad Pitt brownie. What' next Angelina Jolie cupcakes? They also have a variety of teas and they make this awesome gelatos. The variety of snack cakes is truly impressive. Polka Dot is also very nice place to hang out.
Duane Park Patisserie
Duane park patisserie looks like it was ripped from the streets of Paris and planted smack dab in downtown New York. The shop is small and quaint and they have these really cool wooden benches you can sit on and eat your pastries. The pastries are also really delicious. It's a nice place to relax and chill out.
Taylors Prepared Food & Bakery
Taylors Prepared Food & Bakery makes the best muffins and hot chocolate around. It's located in the village so getting there is a trek and finding it is a trip. The hot chocolate alone is worth is especially with marshmallows. Its just the right blend of chocolate. And when you add their buttery muffins. Yum Yum! Nice little bakery. Cozy atmosphere.
Anfora
With all the press and hoopla Magnolia's bakery gets it's easy to miss this little bakery since it's smaller and easy to miss unless you're looking for it. They make these really creamy cupcakes that put hostess to shame and the coffee is good too. The place is small so I would recommend getting your sweets to go.
Levain Bakery
I wouldn't bring the cookie monster in here. He would lose his furry puppet mind. They make some of the best cookies ever. Chips Ahoy excluded of course. Okay sure they have about a million calories and your waist line will never be the same. But the butter cookies and chocolate chip and creme cookies well any cookie in this joint is worth it. Nice staff. Good prices.
Rocco's
Rocco Pastry Shop makes a really mean cup of java. So is there gelato. Hits the spot on a hot summer day. I like to sit outside and enjoy my gelato on really nice days. It's one of the better pastry shops in the Village. The staff is always friendly to you and the prices are won't break your wallet. I give it two thumbs up.
Bonsignour
Bonsignour. It's a nice break from Starbucks even if the shop is a little small. The employees don't look like they wish they were someplace else. They actually serve real food instead of the usual cupcakes and cookies. You can also sit outside on the benches with a cup of coffee and relax. It can get kind of crowded around lunchtime so get your food and coffee beforehand if possible.
Doma
Doma Cafe & Gallery is so neat. It's this small cafe that makes the best coffee every. It's mostly art types, locals, writers and the freelance crowd that hangs out there. They have these huge windows that you can sit next to with your cup of coffee, look outside and watch the world go by. Really cool
Great Bear Auto Centers
A friend my recommended this Great Bear Auto Centers when my car broke down. When I looked outside and saw the worn down building I thought for sure my friend has lost her mind. But I was wrong. They took a long time going over my care checking it out but in the end they got it running again and they didn't try to cheat me or overcharge me. My car is still running without any problems
Auto Clinic
I would recommend Empire State Auto Glass to anyone with a broken window on their car. The staff is very professional and courteous and do an awesome job. The place is a bit far away from the train and don't even bother looking for parking. The prices are also reasonable. I would go back again if my car window broke again.
