This is a fabulous place to bring the family for some great Tex-Mex food! Munch on chips and HOT sauce while waiting on your meals. Try the beef and chicken fajitas, mouth watering and worth the wait. However, the sides that go with them are rather small portions so you might have to request additional. Great service and Mariachi band!!! They're located right off I35, and have a huge parking lot.
This is THE place to go if your kids have to wear school uniforms. They have the best selection and best prices. They carry many styles and sizes of pants in the basic colors (navy, khaki, black). They also carry the polo type shirts in basic colors (light blue, white, red, etc.). The short sleeve shirts are around eight dollars, very reasonably priced. The pants are around 10-15 dollars, again very good prices. The store is very organized and neat, and have 6-8 dressing rooms. The staff is very helpful and will help you find what you need. Beware, right before school starts, it gets quite crowded in there! As a result, the selection and sizes needed dwindles. Go way before then to get what you need!
PROS: Excellent prices and selection
CONS: Very busy right before school starts
We are new to the district, but not the town. The exterior of the school is not the best, however, it's many years old. They have a uniform policy and they are strict on it. Not hoodies aloud or gang colors. If your child makes the A/B Honer Roll and/or Perfect Attendance, then they can wear street clothes on Fridays for the next 6 weeks as a reward. The teachers/coaches/staff are truely wonderful and are hard at work for the kids. There are many extracurricular activities to partake in. Overall, I'm very impressed as a parent.
PROS: Dedicated teachers/staff
The store isn't that small. They have clothes for infants on up to older kids(preteen). The majority of the items are name brand and smell fresh and clean! Very reasonable prices. When they get cribs, strollers, etc in, they go quick. You can get on a waiting list if you're waiting for a big item to be consigned. They have off-season sales; winter clothes at great prices during the spring and summer and vice-versa. I'm already itching to go back and find some great deals!! The staff is wonderful, very helpful, and they have a cute play area for the kiddies!
PROS: Play area for kids, great prices, great selection
CONS: Big items go quick (get on waiting list)
I highly recommend this particular business for your income tax preparation/filing needs. They accept walk-ins and appointments. The owner has many, many years of accounting experience and is dedicated to his work. It's a small office, but very nice. There are treats available for the kids, in case they get restless! The filing fees are all competitive, whether you file single/joint, etc. They offer rapid refunds, as well. Great staff!
This is a roller skating rink. Many years ago, as a child, we went there and had a blast. They shut the place down years later and a couple of years ago they reopened it with obviously new owners. They updated it, but the prices just kill it. Tooooo expensive. Hardly anyone goes there either, very vacant looking. I was real excited for it to finally open back up so I could take MY kids there to skate, but we went once and that was enough.
PROS: Updated floor
I went with my friend here for the first time years ago, and have since returned several times. They have everything from Barbies to baby items, remote control cars/trucks, hot wheels, power wheels, Polly Pockets, etc. They have a website and you can sign up for their weekly/monthly lists of deals. Beware, if they are running a really good deal on a certain day, get there before they open the doors. People will be lined up and will rush in and load up carts. I don't recommend taking your kids on these days, customers can get quite rude. Also, they have a discount card, so be sure and sign up for one at checkout. They also offer discounts for employees of American Airlines, Bell Helicopter, etc. Check the store for more info. Hope this helps someone, you MUST check it out!!
PROS: Rock bottom prices
CONS: Rude shoppers during exceptional sale days
We happen to walk in there on a Saturday night to do some family bowling! It was a bit crowded, which is understandable. There was a one hour wait for a lane, but we just passed the time by playing arcade games and watching people bowl until they called our name. However, over half of the arcade games were out-of-order. Bathrooms were clean. The counter clerks were very nice. At about 9pm, they have some kind of night-bowling. They turn the lights down, and the disco lights come on!! The kids loved it!! We had a blast, and hope to get back there soon!! Oh, they also have a pool table area if you're into that.
PROS: Clean bathrooms, nice staff
CONS: Several broken arcade games
If you are in the area visiting, you must stop in here! There are many unique shops and restaurants, all open 7days a week. There is a candy store there that has barrels of candy, it would make a child drool upon entry! Arrange to hop aboard the Tarantula steam engine train! Don't forget to watch for the twice daily cattle drives!
PROS: Something for everyone!
Bill has been around for years and also has a shop in Copperras Cove down the road. He still owns and manages. The staff are great and very knowledgable. They get the job done fast and the prices are competitive. You will not be disappointed. Also, the shop is easy to find.
PROS: Knowledgable, great staff
CONS: Closed Sundays
