Denefe Gardner & Zingg PC
We had Paul Zingg handle a case for us a few months ago when we found ourselves needing a lawyer for our paperwork. We had never needed a lawyer before so we were unsure of who to go to. We were pretty happy with Zingg. He handled our paperwork quickly so that we were able to file our papers quickly. He was a really nice guy as well. I liked him just about as much as I could like any lawyer.
Riddles Books & Coffee
Riddle's is a great place to visit if you are looking for the latest new release or an older book. If you can't find what you are looking for you can always have them order it for you. They have a large magazine selection and carry a lot of different magazines that you cannot find anywhere else. The only thing that bothers me about this store is that it is a little cluttered at times.
Bargains & Deals
If you need a gift for someone that is unique and affordable then I recommend this store. Bargains and Deals has a large assortment of collectible gifts. They carry eagle statues, dogs, cats, frogs, clowns, horses and more. The items are so cheap that you can pick up a couple of items. We buy a lot of gifts for my dad here because he loves eagles. He is always satisfied with the gifts as well.
Lil Toads N Dragonflies Clothing
This is a great consignment shop to visit if you are looking for nice, used kids clothing. The clothes here are clean and very affordable. They have a nice selection of clothing in all sorts of different sizes so you can find clothes for any size child. I was even able to pick up a few items that looked almost brand new.
Martz Auto Sales
When we needed to buy a new car we went to Martz Auto Sales. We looked at a lot of cars and got a great deal on an SUV. The staff was friendly and we even got the price of the car knocked down. (It always feels good to be able to pay less for something you were going to buy anyway!) They are a small dealership but they did have a decent selection of cars. I would recommend checking them out if you are in need of a new car.
Champion Bowl
I've never understood what people like about Champion Bowl. It is dirty, dingy and just looks run down. Champion Bowl is used by a lot of leagues so there is a good chance that you might not get a lane when you want to bowl. They have video games and a snack bar but I don't think I would want to eat anything made there. I would recommend that you stay away from this place and visit Wapello County Strike Zone instead.
Domino's Pizza
You can't walk through the mall without smelling all the candles, chocolates & other neat items sold in this store. I stopped in this store because they sell Burt Bees products. Nobody else in town sells them and my wife loves Burt Bees stuff. There prices were a little bit higher than what I could find online but at least I didn't have to wait for it to be delivered. They have a large candle selection with a wide variety of different scents. It is a great place to pick up a gift for the lady in your life.
Adventureland Inn
We stayed at this hotel for a convention that was being held over the weekend. While it wasn't an upscale hotel it was still nice. We paid around $100 for our room. It had a balconey over the pool. There are 3 pools at the hotel...one even has a swim up bar. (Note: No kids are allowed at the swim up bar) The indoor pool was nice but cold. The rooms were clean and comfortable and room service was acceptable. Overall, we had a great time but I don't think it was worth the money.
Adventureland
Adventureland is a great place to take the family for a fun day out. Admission is a bit expensive at $29 for adults and $25 for kids but you can save money by picking up coupons from local businesses. They have a wide variety of rides that the whole family can enjoy. My kids loved the inner tube ride. If you live close enough to the park you can really save money by buying a season pass for $65. If you plan on staying more than one night you can either stay at the Adventureland Inn or at the campgrounds. Here's a word of advice...bring your own food and eat in the parking lot rather than buying food in the park.
Milwaukee County Zoo
While visiting some family up in Milwaukee we decided to take the kids to the Milwaukee Zoo. Admission to this zoo was $9.75 for adults and $6.75 for kids. Parking was an outrageous $8! This is a really great zoo with lots of great animal exhibits. It's huge and you really need a map to see everything. My kids loved the penguins swimming around right as you go in the park. The zoo was pretty crowded the day we visited so we didn't get to see everything we wanted to. Overall, it was a nice zoo but it wasn't worth the $41 for a family of 4 (for admission and parking) just to get in the door.
