I shopped at the Party Time Paper & Crafts once when I needed a particular item that I couldnt find anywhere else. It is kind of located in an inconvenient location, really a long drive from the freeway which kind of turned me off from ever going back there again. But it does have a large parking lot in front though. Too bad the store doesnt have an online store or I would just purchase online instead.
The Oakland Children's Hospital is really a wonderful place. I have a few friends and relatives who had their children hospitalized there and received such wonderful care. They have all the high tech equipment to appropriately care for infants and children. It is no wonder other hospitals send their small patients there when they are unable to appropriately care for them.
The Japan Center is a smaller version of Chinatown that has many Japanese retail stores, restaurants and even a hotel. Youll find a lot of Japanese culture and design in the building architectures and storefronts. I like to occasionally shop here with my girlfriends who live in San Francisco when we want to immerse ourselves in Japanese food and culture.
The Serramonte Center was recently renovated a few years ago and it certainly looks a lot better but it is a really crowded mall. They have a Macys on one end, a Mervyns on the other and a Greatland Target on another end. I have never encountered a mall with a Target in it before which is interesting because right on the other side of the freeway from this mall is another Greatland Target. So its kind of redundant to me.
Stonestown Galleria is one of my favorite malls in San Francisco. It has Macy's on one end and Nordstrom on the other end. I love their food court on the second floor too. They have a lot of vendors there that offer great food. Unfortunately, parking is kind of difficult to find often times because of it's popularity.
I would have to say that the San Francisco Shopping Centre is the most beautiful mall architecturally in the bay area. The middle of the mall has these spiraling escalators that take you from the bottom to the top floors where Nordstrom is located. The BART station is connected directly to the mall below the ground level too. I love shopping here.
I dont much like the Hilltop mall anymore. I usually go here for Macys only and hardly for any of the other stores that are in the mall. The have a JCPenney on the other end of the mall from Macys. The building itself looks kind of outdated and needs a major renovating. There are plenty of parking available though.
