I always love going into Christmas Tree Shops - you never know what you're going to find! Prices are unbelievable. They offer seasonal items for decorating your garden or patio. Lots of choices for the home including lamps, pictures, small furniture, curtains, housewares. I always stock up on little things like note cards, tissue paper, gift wrap and gift bags. There's a huge assortment of picture frames too. Health & Beauty as well as food items are available too. The kids always find a good book or stationery item. Great for little knick-knacks and other surprises. Go take a look for yourself. You're sure to find something!
My daughter loved going to Meadowbrook Pre-School. They have since moved from the Church St location to Concord Rd. Kathy, the owner, is very friendly and does everything in the best interest of the children. The teachers are wonderful and do a great job with the kids. I like how they keep the parents involved and informed. Fieldtrips are part of the curriculum as are special events. It's nice to know there's a place kids can start their schooling in such a positive enviornment. They even offer in-house Kindergarten. Top- Notch!!
At least once a month, the kids and I head to Barnes & Noble. We love to browse up and down the aisles. It a relaxing atmosphere and I like that they are excited to find a book to purchase and read. A great selection is always found in the bargain-priced section too in all genres. If you're looking for something specific, just head to the customer service booth for help. They can find items by author, subject matter, etc. If they do not carry it, they will special order it for you. There's a connecting Starbuck's as is in most Barnes and Noble's. They offer WiFi service but it isn't free.
This is a fun place to take the kids, even if they don't quite know how to roller skate. You have the choice of your basic roller skate or roller blades, which I found much easier to re-learn on. Step out onto the floor and go to the music. If you're a novice, you can go into the center of the floor where there's a safe zone to go at your own pace. They hold races for different age groups which the kids love. There's also laser tag and karaoke as well as some arcade games where you can win tickets to turn in for prizes. A snack bar offers the basic pizza, fries, popcorn, soda. Lots of kids like to have their birthday parties here too. Check it out!
With more than a few other storage facilities to choose from in this area, you would think this place would do whatever to separate themselves. I just needed a temporary storage spot that had good accessibility and pricing. I saw an ad for "First Month free" and decided to try it. The facility was ok, heated in winter, cooling summer. I could gain access from the outside and the hours were pretty good. But I made the "mistake" of missing a payment while caring for my Mom who was diagnosed with lung cancer and given a month to live! I explained the situation and they were so rude back, I paid what I owed and had my husband go empty out the space that afternoon. I didn't want any special treatment, just a little understanding. I will not frequent any place as a customer where this rudeness happens!!
We love the friendly atmosphere here at St Mary's Credit Union. We mainly visit the branch on Maple St and always find the service quick and friendly. Any questions about our accounts or other services are adeptly answered by one of the Member Services personnel. At the bigger banking institutions, I always felt like a number. Not at St Mary's. You are treated as the reason they are there - for The Customer. We've got our savings/checking accounts here as well as our mortgage and car loans. Goodbye big banking institutions and informality!
If you love BBQ, ribs and Deep Southern cooking, you have got to go to Firefly's. Lots of items on the menu to choose from and even more sauces and dips. You can choose from mild to inferno (and I've been told the hottest they have is MIGHTY hot!). There are ribs, chicken, pulled pork to name a few. You choose your side dishes. I highly recommend the sweet potato pecan pudding and the garlic mashed potatoes. They've got a kids menu which offers staples like peanut butter and jelly. The atmosphere is informal and fun. The portions are big so go with an empty stomach!
We love going here! This is a terrific family-owned business. Their ice cream is delicious and there are alot of flavors to choose from. You can sit in one of the swings or gliders they have set-up or choose one of the picnic tables near the flower and garden section. We've seen butterflies and hummingbirds...a nice little treat to see while we eat our ice cream. Make sure you browse the nursery. They have a wide selection of flowers, plants, small trees, etc. There's also a small indoor mini-golf great for the kiddies. In back, Bob's Wood Shop is located. Here the kids can go in and build one of many wooden projects and paint it. Check the hours as they vary from Trombetta's Ice Cream/Flower Garden business.
This Staples offers a step above as far as customer service is concerned. If you need something quickly, someone is right there to help. Prices are good too. I have found better sale prices here than their competitor on many items. There is ample parking and they are located in the plaza next to Home Depot.
If you are down the Cape, be sure to stop into the Flea market here at the Wellfleet Drive-In. It's fun to browse all the different vendors set up here. They have bigger vendors with lots of wares, dollar items to small based businesses i.e. Bead Lady. If you love yard sales and thrifting, there is a great variety of people just offering a mix of things they've collected or came across at estate sales. My son was thrilled to find a pile of old Life magazines in excellent condition for $5.00 total. My daughter found a beautiful vintage bracelet. Something for everyone! There's a small admission fee charged for parking.
