Mitchell's has the best ice cream in San Francisco. They offer many varieties of flavors, ranging from your typical vanilla and chocolate, to lychee and durian! I haven't tried the durian flavored ice cream, but everything else is great! If you go there on a hot day, be ready to wait in line for a while!
PROS: great flavors, great ice cream
CONS: little parking, long wait when it's hot
Thanya and Salee is a bar/Thai restaurant. The Thai food is good, not great, and the bar is trendy (a little too trendy for me, but they have Chimay on tap!). The service at the restaurant is not super friendly, but it is relatively quick. I love their Tofu Special dish. It's super tasty.
PROS: good food, fast service, Chimay on tap!
CONS: not super friendly
I know my ethnically loyal Chinese friends would hate this restaurant, but I'm ethnically Chinese but can enjoy Americanized Chinese food. This restaurant has great Mapo Tofu and vegetarian Mushu vegetable, but, like I said, it's not authentic. But it is tasty (which is all that really matters to me!). The service is not super friendly, but they're quick.
PROS: good tasting food, fast service
CONS: not super friendly, not authentic
Lucky 13 has an excellent selection of beers, and the staff is very cool. They also have an outdoor area where you can sit and play cards or whatever. The bar has a pool table inside and an upstairs area and a couple of video games. Their happy hour is also very well priced, and it's just an all-around cool place to be.
PROS: great selection of beers, well-priced happy hour
CONS: parking's sometimes hard...
This place is near my work, and they deliver too! I called them just before they opened, and they were very friendly. They took my order and I asked to have my pizza delivered around 11:45 am, and they delivered it almost exactly on time! The pizza was hot and tasty!
PROS: Good, tasty pizza!
ok. so maybe i'm a little biased because i loved shopping here so much that i started working here, but really, it is the best store ever. the products are reliable and so are the salespeople. the salespeople are not only friendly but very knowledgeable!
PROS: dependable outdoor equipment
CONS: some stuff is on the pricier side
I really love sweet and sour chicken and dishes like that, but since becoming a vegetarian, I have been deprived of it. Golden Era has supplied me with vegetarian options that taste very much like the real thing! The waitstaff isn't very sociable, and the ambiance leaves a bit to be desired, but if you're looking for a filling, inexpensive, vegetarian meal, Golden Era's a good choice.
PROS: inexpensive, vegetarian food
Mission Cliffs is a great place to stay in shape. Many of their routesetters are good and they have some workout equipment as well. The only thing is, it gets hot when it's sunny outside because of the windows (it's like a greenhouse) and lack of ventilation. Other than that, I only have good things to say about the place. :)
PROS: great work out, friendly staff, friendly people
CONS: poor ventilation
Minako is a wonderful, organic Japanese restaurant in the Mission district with many vegetarian options. The food is delicious & the owners are friendly! And their sukiyaki is to die for.
PROS: delicious, healthful, organic
CONS: highly addictive! ;)
