When my wife's Dyson vacuum cleaner quit working, we wanted it fixed quickly, so we didn't go to the dealer, but instead called Creative Sew and Vac Center to see if they could help.
They offered us fast service and a very reasonable price (under $50) for this very expensive vacuum cleaner.
After examining the unit, they gave a very detailed estimate and offered to show us how they would fix the problem if we wanted them to. We declined that but did ask them to do the work. We were promised a 4 day turn around time (they had to order a part) but they actually got it back to us in 3 days.
It's very rare to get high quality service at a low price these days, but they did it.
I would recommend them for any vacuum cleaner repair or if you need anything done with a sewing machine.
My daughter goes to Kurt and Company and has yet to walk out of the door with anything other than a superb hair cut.
We know that when she makes an appointment with them that she will be happy when she leaves.
The staff is friendly and makes sure that they know exactly what you want before they begin any kind of work on you. The shampooers lull you into relaxation and then the stylists go to work.
Before you leave the chair they want you to be 100% satisfied with the work they've done and we highly recommend them for this alone.
Friendly, quality cuts at a reasonable price.
When our credit union merged with HCFCU, they gave us all $50 to meet their minimum balance requirements, whether we had the minimum met or not. (Free money!)
If you are a member with any type of balance and a job, you are pretty much guaranteed a loan, whether it be a car loan or personal loan.
The employees are friendly, offer polite greetings and seem genuinely happy to help in any way that they can.
You can use any of the local credit unions ATM's free of charge, so that's a bonus and the interest rates they offer on their automobile loans and credit cards make them the best choice for banking in the St. Louis area.
When my daughter decided she wanted to join a bowling league, we were recommended Trio by my Mother in Law, someone who'd bowled for 35 years on a league.
We went to Trio and were immediately greeted by the friendly staff. The worker asked the dollar amount and type of ball we wanted and then proceeded to show us their entire line of balls.
When he discovered that it was for a child, he offered a package for a ball, shoes and bag for a very reasonable price. For $50, we basically got the shoes and bag free. When my daughter balked at the regulation type shoes, he offered us the full price of those shoes as credit towards a different pair!
Once her ball was picked out, they were patient in getting her finger measurements and made sure that she was comfortable with it before drilling.
After the ball was done, they remeasured and fine tuned the holes as needed and made sure we knew that we could come back at any time for any fine tuning it might need.
Excellent service and excellent prices for any bowling needs.
After leaving the Army, I decided to keep my short military hairstyle and had a terrible time finding a barbershop that will give a quality cut. The local Great Clip type salons just don't do it properly and the other barbershops I'd frequented either shaved you bald or barely cut anything at all.
Swiney's has competent barbers who give you the exact cut that you are looking for. A haircut is $9.00 and they'll use a straight razor, do any necessary trimming and make sure that you're satisfied before you leave the chair.
The atmosphere is that of an old fashioned barbershop with men sitting around talking sports and world events.
If you're in this area and need a decent cut, you can't go wrong with Swiney's.
While taking bids for a new furnace and central air unit, Midway Heating and Cooling was by far the most professional, had the best price and were the friendliest company that we got bids from.
The owner, Danny, came himself to give us the bid and walked through the entire house with us giving his recommendations as far as additional duct work we might need and he explained the different types of furnaces that he offered and the efficiency ratings of each unit.
We told him what the lowest price we had been quoted was and he told me that he would do his best to meet or beat it. When we got the quote from them, we were able to get an upgraded two-cycle furnace for $200 LOWER than the other bids we'd received. This included any permit fees and them installing a new flu liner per building codes.
A company with a great Better Business Bureau rating and with three generations working together, they got our job.
They arrived promptly and three workers (Father, Son and Grandson) went to work ripping out our old furnace and central air unit and installing the new one. They carried everything up a set of steps, did all the new sheet metal and had everything up and going within 3 hours.
They made sure we knew how to run the new system (radically different than the old furnace) and were satisfied before they left.
They have a good work ethic, excellent prices and if you're looking for repairmen or new installation they are the way to go!
When my Mother-in-Law was diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) our entire family was at a loss because we were devastated to find out she was stricken with this fatal illness that we knew so little about.
The ALS Society of St. Louis has provided support both medically and emotionally in this trying time. They've got resource material that we've been able to use to get an understanding of what we're up against and they also have materials on hand that help explain the disease to children so that it is understandable.
They have support groups for the entire family, durable medical equipment that is available to borrow if you need it and most importantly, people who care and understand who will do anything they can to help in a truly tragic situation.
We went to our first River Otters Game during the hockey lockout and quickly became fans.
The enthusiasm that these young men play with puts the players in the NHL to shame.
They give their whole effort on each shift and make the game fun to watch.
The management of the River Otters offers a lot of promotions that make it reasonable enough to bring the whole family regularly and they have fun giveaways that please their younger fans.
Even though the NHL is up and running again, we won't quit going to the River Otter games, they've made fans out of us and we actually enjoy them more than the pros now.
If you're looking for a high quality, fair priced place to take care of your boat - whether fishing, fish and ski or run about - then you don't have to look any further than the Fishin' Hole.
If you don't wait until the last moment, they can get you in at your convenience and if you DO wait until the last moment they can usually squeeze you in to winterize your boat. (We always end up waiting until the last moment)
They offer timely service and have always provided top notch service which allowed us to go from winter weather straight to the water with no other work required.
If you're wanting to start an aquarium, this is the place to come to.
The friendly staff is always happy to walk you through the entire process of picking out the tank, all the accessories you'll need and finally the perfect fish for you.
When we went and were wanting to set up a system, they didn't automatically steer us to the most expensive tropical fish they offer, but questioned us on what kind of colors we were interested in, the commitment we were going to make to taking care of them and other important questions.
They've got reasonable prices and that with the knowledge they offer make it the place to go for your aquarium needs.
