Dz Akins has really great food. It's kind of Jewish, New York. It's usually crowded but they have good prices and big helpings. The pickles are great. They have a deli where you can buy stuff to take home and they have a bakery. They have sweets and pastry. They also sell bread. It's a very New York atmosphere.
E Street Alley is a fun up-beat dance club. They have two different dancing rooms and a great bar. The serve really good drinks and have lots of space. You may have to walk a bit after finding parking down town or pay for one of the parking lots. You have to be 21 years old to patron this club.
Little Italy is a cute, fun place to eat at. It's like a hole in the wall bistro. The food is pretty good and the atmosphere is nice. It's a great place to bring a date. It's not a real great place to brinf kids for dinner but lunch would be ok. Make sure that you have dessert.
A friend took me here saying they were the best burgers in San Diego. I really don't know about best, but they were very good. They also have a bar. Its outside but has a roof. So, it's airy and has that patio feel but warm and dry. It's a fun atmosphere, you wouldn't be disappointed.
The Black Bead has a great selection of beads. You get a basket to take around to pick out what you want from 1 bead to 100. You just list it down on your tally sheet. They have lots of tools to help you out, too, pliars, leather cords. It's everything that you'll need, not just the beads.
I supposed The Black would be called a "head shop". It is a fun little shop aside from the "water pipes". They have cute clothes and jewelry. The have interesting books and some instruments. It has the fun O.B. atmosphere where you can go in barefood directly from the beach. They have some neat house decorations.
Friends of mine highly recommended the Potato Shack and eat there all the time. I was not super impressed. I would go back for breakfast if I was near by but it wasn't amazing. It was just a run of the mill food, like Denny's with a better atmosphere. They only take cash, so you know, but they do have an ATM inside.
This is the largest yarn store that I have ever been in. They have every type and color of yarn. They have spinning supplies also. The sales ladies are super helpful and they have tons of patterns. I love looking at all of the demonstration pieces. They offer classes for everyone.
Two Sisters and ewe has a great selection of yarn and notions. So many different styles, colors, etc. They are a nice open and airy store. Tons of different needles and anything else you could need. They offer classes and have a small kids play area for when parents are shopping.
Bjs has really good food. Great pizza, burgers, giant baked potatoes, and salads. Love the dessert, too. They have a bar and t.v.s all over with different sports on. It's good if you have kids because of all the noise but the space is a bit tight. They are very busy on weekends and it's hard to find a parking space. The service is fast, though.
