I tried this salon when I moved back to the area because they were an Aveda Concept Salon. Located on the outskirts of downtown Birmingham I found it a little hard to get in and out of. The salon itself didn?t seem too busy, but the people were nice. They worked with me to figure out a new style and made sure I was comfortable with their idea before moving forward. The other nice thing was that they actually kept my appointment time. Often times I?ve been left to sit for 20?30 minutes waiting for the stylist. It was nice. Prices are somewhat expensive. Probably part ? in ? part because they?re located in Birmingham. They do offer many spa services as well. Massages, wraps, facials, etc. Great place to spend the afternoon.
I went here recently on the recommendation from a couple of friends. Boy was I glad I tried it. Located right downtown Royal Oak it was so easy to get in and out of. The people were all very friendly and I didn?t feel like the salon was at all pretentious. The owner even brings her dog to work! Prices are competitive. They are open Wed/Thursday?s late. They?re even open Saturday afternoons.
A nice little salon located off the beaten path. Just north of downtown this salon offers everything you need for a quick, affordable manicure/pedicure. The workers are somewhat hard to understand as they don?t all speak very good English. But they will get you in and out quick and they offer their services at competitive prices. They offer lots of colors to choose from and are patient as you?re trying to figure out which one to go with. The setting is nothing glamerous. They do have TVs and magazines, but it?s nothing fancy.
A quaint little salon in downtown Royal Oak. They get you in and out pretty quick. They?ll also take you without an appointment. Their prices are competitive. They offer a manicure / pedicure special for $35. They have plenty of people on staff that so you don?t have to wait. The facility is clean as are their tools, bowls, etc. They?ll let you bring in wine/drinks if you so desire. They?re good at accommodating a group of women. We celebrated a birthday there and everyone had a great time. Plenty of magazines, TVs for your viewing pleasure.
I recently saw Dr. Schwartz because I had a terrible case of poison ivy. He ended up being the nicest doctor I?ve worked with. His bed side manner was terrific. He took the time to understand my issue, was genuinely interested in the rest of my health and took a few minutes to get to know me. In a day and age when doctors are in and out of your room in less than 5 minutes it was very refreshing. They also have a pharmacy right on site which is very convenient.
AAAA Plumbing is very responsive. They come to your house very quickly ? same day if needed. Also offer emergency service calls ? though at a higher price. They will also come out for home inspections. And know exactly what to look for, make suggestions and show you what?s going on with your drainage system. They are competitively priced. The avg sewer snake runs $75. They also offer more services to help keep your drain clean?more powerful solutions that you aren?t legally allowed to do on your own because of the strength. They?ll also dig up your whole yard and put in a new line if that?s what you need.
This is a great opportunity for adults and kids alike. I was able to coach this past spring. They?re flexible to coaches and allow for multiple adults coach one team so that they can have coverage through the season. They don?t make the season too long, which is good for the kids and the adults. They get each team exposed to a 4-6 other teams which makes for great interaction. Also allows kids to get exposed to different playing levels. The league is flexible in terms of when you practice and will work with your child - to get them on a team that works with your schedule. It was a great group of people both in the league and in the administration. The cost to join is minimal and all coached are volunteers. Many are parents, aunts and uncles.
This dog parlor is a hoot. They are very fun to work with. They?ll get your dog in at a moments notice and don?t charge and arm and a leg. It?s a no-frills kind of place however, and is often quite steamy when you walk in. Also smells like pets, but that?s the business they?re in. Plan on leaving your dog their all day, too. They won?t commit to having your dog done at a specific time. Just that he/she will be done by the end of the day. They love pets though ? you?re in good hands.
This is a massage school where you can go and get a great massage and a lower ?student? price than if you were going to go to a spa. They offer every service that a Nordstroms would offer ? deep tissue, relaxation, hot stone, etc but all for a lot less. They do fill up very quickly and only offer the student rate during the week. On the weekends they have the professionals offering. The atmosphere isn?t as nice as the spa, but if you can?t get over that it?s a great deal. I will only go there during the week b/c if I?m going to pay full price I?d just assume go to the spa.
I had a pretty good experience with A-Moldavian when I had my stamped concrete patio put in. The owner, Mehi, is very friendly and willing to work with you. They did a terrific job on my porch but didn?t properly seal it so they had to come back. They stand by their work however so it was repaired. They work with you to figure out what will look best in your yard, based on the size of the area you?re working with. Bid them out against the others ? they?re competitively priced. They have a helpful web site too and are willing to come out more than once to help you understand how things will work/look.
