My fiancee's bridal party didn't like the shoes at David's Bridal because they didn't have a big enough selection, and a few of the girls were tall as it was (5'6) and didn't need high heels boosting them up anymore. She recommended they go here, where they found reasonably priced shoes in different heel sizes (an inch, two inches, completely flat, etc.) They're being dyed for the wedding and will match the bridesmaid's pink dresses, and a few of the girls said they felt really comfortable and plan to wear them out after the wedding. We were really satisfied with their selection and range of shoes.
This is a neat planetarium to learn about astrology. They have booklets with the constellation and a history of each one (what Native Americans believed them to symbolize) so you can point them out in the observatory and learn about each one. Their movie about stars was too scientific and a bit too boring for me, so I recommend skipping that portion. Otherwise, this is a great alternative to seeing the stars, since Columbus tends too have too many lights to see the real ones.
This is a nice shoe store with comfortable picks. They have casual and dress shoes for men, women, and children. I got brown shoes to wear with my khakis and polos in the fall, which have been comfortable and appropriate for the season. They have a nice selection of shoes for runners and joggers to absorb some of the shock from the pavement. For my seasonal and athletic shoes, I always find what I'm looking for here.
King's Island is a pretty good amusement park and a lot of fun for a day. The staple of their amusement park is The Beast, a six-minute long rollercoaster ride that I was looking forward to, but to my disappointment, it was really rickety and I got a headache from all the jerks and bangs. King's Island compensates by means of Boomerang Bay, a water park with hundreds of slides and pools to enjoy. If you have young kids, there's a Hannah Barbara section for kids only.
This is a good sporting goods store. During off-season months, they have discounted sporting goods with prices slashed as low as 35%. I stock up on golf balls in the cold, snowy months for summer. They have all the trusted brands and you can buy in bulk if you're a serious athlete to save even more money. Everything I've bought has been durable and high quality; it's lasted my wear and tear!
This martial arts studio has different forms of martial arts to learn. I picked Tae Kwon Do, where I learned how to count in Korean and how to correctly do the kicks, punches, and sparring. They give really comfortable white cotton uniforms to look authentic and to keep cool during your workout. You advance by passing belt tests. I'm currently a blue belt and I hope to become a black. I knew nothing about TKD before this class and now have the proper technique down a year and a half later. Great workouts and a lot of fun.
This store has a great selection of foreign movies to rent. I took French and Japanese and wanted to see what kinds of movies their directors produced. It's hard to find that at mainstream video stores, who usually only carry the new releases. I found a lot of great action movies (to my fiancee's dismay) which helped me brush up on my Japanese while seeing a good movie. I recommend this video store if you want to practice your native tongue.
This isn't a bad computer store for accessories. I thought my keyboard's keys were too hard and noisy, so I came in for something more soft and quiet. I found just what I was looking for (there were about 50 to choose from) and also came across some really cool plastic covers to put on your main PC to make your computer look like Spiderman, an alien, etc. It's neat if you want to give your computer an original look.
This is my favorite tanning salon to go to in the winter. I like this place because they offer spray booths instead of harmful UV rays in tanning beds. The whole process takes a very quick amount of time, the tan appears in full color a day later, and it lasts a few weeks. The facility is very clean and the staff is very friendly. I'm always complimented on my faux tans, which look real. It is well worth the money.
This is a great bookstore that gets all the popular books on best seller lists, and has a diverse selection for everyone. I always come here for gifts. I got the complete Calvin & Hobbes table book here, which I hadn't known about before, and it's been looked at dozens of times since. I can always find something for my fiancee here (who is studying Sociology and Criminology) because they have a really large "true crime" section. Some bookstores don't have that at all. They have a great selection and you can definitely find thoughtful presents here.
