Pasadena Car Wash

Whether you want a quick wash or a thorough detailing, Pasadena offers it. I often zip through for the basic wash, but have been happy with the full service detailing wash too. That took well over an hour. It's a little dicey getting there, they are on the corner of Pasadena Ave and 1st Ave S. (one-way heading east) - so you have to plan ahead a bit. The office has a few auto related items for purchase, and you can watch your vehicle go through if you choose. I think they have a loyalty card program (which I never remember).

Pronto Car Wash Quick Lube

Pronto is centrally located in St. Pete, and usually runs coupons in the magazines that come w/local mail delivery. Their quik lube includes a free standard car wash...a nice plus. 9:30 - %:30 Monday - Saturday. They also offer detialing - hand waxing, upholstery cleaning, buffing and compounding, carpet shampooing. If you want to save money or prefer to do it yourself, there are 5 bays for the self serve washes. The "works" is about $20 and includes wash, wax, undercarriage wash and anti-rust, air freshener and armor all

Shell Store

Seemingly in business for a hundred years, the Shell Store is a place you must visit, at least once. Shells of every type and variety can be found here. Can't find a gorgeous one on the beach? Buy one to take home! If you are crafty, you can get all kinds of ideas and/or even the perfect color item for a project. Not only shells, but other kitschy items and stuff to use to make shell projects accompanies the assortment of shells. You'll be amazed by the variety, and eager to look for some of the unusual ones on the beach.

Gardens Laundromat

Located in Tyrone Gardens, they'll keep an eye out so that when you pull up in front, they'll help you bring your laundry in before parking, as parking in the lot is not convenient if you have a bunch. The wash, dry and fold service is convenient, and especially reasonable if you use it as I do - a few times a year for comforters! They have always turned out perfectly, been nicely folded and packaged, and ready when promised. It is an attended laundromat as well, and the premises seem clean and the machines fairly new and large.

Pasadena Dental Care

General dentistry, adequate parking. Located in a strip center. I prefer dental offices with separate rooms for each patient, rather than the long semi-divided area here, where it's easy to overhear what is said to everyone else. The technicians are friendly. They seem to push quadrant cleaning on everyone (where the overhearing comes into play), and that tends to turn me off, it seems less individualized when you hear everyone told the same thing.

Northside Hospital Heart Institute

Visiting several friends here, the care was good, but for a hospital it did not seem clean and fresh. The nursing staff was explanatory and prompt, willing and able, and it is well respected for heart patients, but often the family members take on housekeeping chores that the hospital seemingly doesn't, or not frequently enough. Given a choice between poor patient care and a clean hospital, or the reverse, I'd choose good patient care and a less clean hospital - but ideally, would certainly prefer both.

All Children's Hospital

Well known, and reknowned - All Childrens Hospital specializes in pediatrics and receives children from all over the area, and the world! The staff is friendly and caring, and there are many programs in place for the families as well, as an illness to the child affects the entire family. They are affiliated with the Ronald McDonald Houses as well, providing a place for family members to stay - alleviating the need for an impossible to find hotel at certain times of the year. If you've been referred to All Childrens, you'll receive care as well as compassion!

Kevin Fantauzzo has been recommended both to myself and to many people I know by happy prior customers. He's also been recommended by other attorneys, especially in the area of family law. Since word of mouth recommendations for attorneys are slim, having one name pop up again and again gives one confidence in selection. He is friendly and competent, and away from the zoo downtown in central St. Petersburg. Adequate parking. Worth checking out if you have a need for a general or family attorney.

Lou's Florist

I think Lou's has been in business about 50 years, probably close to a record for a business located on the beach! For good reason...it's a large shop, family owned and friendly, with a very nice selection of items for both everyday and special occasions such as weddings, birthdays, anniversaries or even parties. If you (or your recipient) aren't into real flowers, they do some nice things in silk. While many businesses come and go, I look for Lou's service to keep them in business for many, many more years.

Willow Tree Nursery Inc

Willow Tree does more than you'd expect when you seen the sign "Nursery" - they do landscape design as well and well as landscaping and selling flowers and of course, plants. The personnel are knowledgeable, and friendly. I've even ordered rose bushes over the phone for holiday delivery with no problem at all. They are always helpful and ready to answer any questions, or if you just want to buy something and get in and out, that's fine too.
