I'm not sure if this nail salon is fairly new or if I just missed it for a while. But I went there recently and thought it was a nice nail salon. The salon is kept very tidy. The staff is friendly and they do very nice work. The prices are reasonable. They have a relaxed atmoshpere and you don't feel like you are rushed through an assembly line.
I have gone to Leon's on several occasions for flowers, mulch, plants and various other odds and ends for the garden. I have always been very pleased with the selection (which is varied and of good quality) and the prices. The staff are friendly and they know a lot about their stock (what should be planted in direct sun, partial shade, etc.). There is another location which I have not visited - but I have heard from my former mother in law that the New Castle location has even more of a selection and are just as friendly!
I had no idea that Bull's Eyes on Kirkwood Highway did catering until I had to look around for a work event. I was really impressed with the quality for the price they charged. They were very organized and timely. The staff was professional and friendly. Prices are reasonable, too. I would definitely use them again.
Ted's Tailor Shop and Cleaners is a good place to have alterations done. I've gone here a couple of times and the alterations were always done very well. They get things done when promised (pretty quick turn around). The prices are reasonable. The location is easy find. Parking can be a little bit of a problem, but there is a shopping center next to this shop that you can probably park in a little easier.
This is a nice little barbershop. It's a fairly traditional place to get men's or boy's hair cut inexpensively. My son doesn't like to go into the salon with me (I guess girls have cooties or something) so he has always gone to a barber. He gets a pretty easy cut. The barber(s) at this shop were friendly and did a nice job on his hair. Location is easy to find and the prices are reasonable.
Hawkins & Sons in Elsmere is a fabulous service/repair company for major appliances. They offer maintenance contracts for major appliances. I had a need to utilize their maintenance contract once when I thought my stove was broken. I called they had a service technician out really quickly. It took him approximately 15 seconds to tell me what the problem was - and why the stove wasn't broken - and did it all without laughing! (I really don't know how he refrain - since I had done something to the timer on the oven that kept it from turning on - and it should have been obvious.) I was mostly impressed by how quickly they cam out and how professional they were. Superb company! I would recommend them to anyone I know who needed an appliance repaired.
Called this company for an estimate to replace a refridgerator in my home. I was told that they supply mostly commercial quality appliances. It wasn't so much that they didn't have what I needed, it was the way they said it. Not pleasant. They didn't offer any other solutions, nor did they explain the difference between the VERY expensive commercial quality and the less expensive residential quality appliance.
I graduated from William Penn High School in New Castle, Delaware (nevermind how long ago). I had two younger brothers and a younger sister follow me through. It is a good school. It can be intimidating because of the size of the facility and the number of students. In recent years they have had their share of problems (like all schools), but they have worked diligently to resolve the problems and ensure safety for their students. The have a really good wellness center, as well as, a great athletic program, a superb faculty and various levels of education (based on both needs and future plans - e.g., joint classes with vo-tech schools, advanced placement or college prep classes for those college bound).
This company recently did work for my sister on her house. They were great. The representative who came out was really knowledgeable. They gave her options with the most expensive and the least expensive clearly explained. And they did that without ). The workers who came out were friendly, respectful and efficient. The work was done quickly (and surprisingly quietly). The provide a lot of services: roofing, windows, siding and more. Their prices are extremely reasonable and their work is guaranteed.
PJ Fitzpatrick did the roof on the house I rented. They were really professional. All of the workers wore company shirts (so you knew that a strange hadn't wandered into the yard). As explained to me prior to the new roof being put on, the workers are instructed that they may not curse or smoke while on a customer's property. And they did a great job on top of it. They were really quick and their clean up job was fabulous. They also guarantee their work longer than most smaller companies. And they provide you a complete quote up front so their are no surprises at the end of the job!
