Color Me Mine
This place is great to personalize gifts for occasions, holidays, birthdays, etc. They have some good selections of ceramics to choose from. They also have many types of paints, stencils, and other things to decorate your ceramics with. The service is good. The best part is seeing the result of your art skills.
101 Collection Inc
This place has a wide variety of gifts. The service is good. They were helpful when you are unsure about what to get for a birthday gift or some sort. Sometimes i feel that they are watching every step I make in the store. But I guess they have their reasons. Alot of things in there are quite expensive, but i was able to bargain with them.
Kabuki
this place doesnt have the very best sushi, but it's not too bad either. I went here with my boyfriend for dinner and it was pretty crowded. The wait didnt take that long though. We were seated sort of in the back where not much waitresses pass through, so it took awhile for us to get our refills of water and our check. Besides that, i think i would go back again.
Downtown Disney
Downtown disney has a magical atmosphere. it'd be a nice place to take your date to or even your family and kids to just walk around and hang out. there are plenty of shops, food, and entertainment all in one huge area. The small performances there are interesting. And also, what a great place to have the House of Blues there.
Museum of Contemporary Art
Inside this museum was smaller than it looked from the outside. there wasn't as much installation art as i thought there would be, but some of them were quite interesting. i like the fact that admission is free every thursday from 5-8pm. No one should have to pay to see a few art works in this small museum. i was in and out within an hour.
PROS:
CONS: Parking is not free.
City Tech Auto Repair
This place was okay. The service was pretty fast and inexpensive. i had my oil change there and it only cost me $12, which was pretty good compared to auto shops in gas stations. It can get pretty crowded during the weekends since that's the time where everyone's free. So if you want an oil change there, go early.
Shakas
Shakas use to be one of my favorite restaurants to get chicken katsu or kalua pork, but ever since they increased their prices on the menues, i rarely go back. i think it's pointless to have the idea of served dinners at your booth in the evening time. They should just stick with self serving like a fast food joint. When ordering food via phone, they are usually quick in making the food for you, which shortens the waiting time. Other than that, the food is okay.
PROS: good chinese chicken salad
CONS: too expensive
Swain's
Swains practically had every art supply i needed for my art classes. they are neatly organized. the staff are helpful and courteous. They carry alot of good quality brand paint brushes at affordable prices. The store is large and spacious. i could not help but walk through every single aisle browsing through everything they had on the counters. Swains is an art store i would definitely go to when i'm out of art supplies.
Har Lam Kee Restaurant
I love the yang chow fried rice here. It is delicious and costs under $5 for a big TO GO box. this place gets really busy around lunch time and the early evening. i do think that the place isnt as clean as it should be since they have a Grade C. But sometimes, its places like these, that serves the most authentic food. They are also quick in frying the food for you and when you receive it, it looks hot and fresh.
Lee's Sandwich Shop
I fell in love with Lee's baguettes since the first time i've tried it. Their bread are always made fresh, so it's always warm. These remarkable sandwiches are so inexpensive and affordable. It's awesome. The ice coffee is really good except i think they give too little. They only fill half the cup with coffee and the rest are crushed ice. I recommend getting the pork roll with pate, grilled chicken, and of course the special. They're coconut waffles are off the hook too! Be sure to eat it while it's warm.
PROS: Delicious, cheap sandwiches
CONS: too little coffee in a oh so big cup.
