Cowtown Coliseum is a wonderful areana in Fort Worth. It is right down from the Stockyard station and there is still paved stone streets in front. They hold rodoes there and it is very cool to see the cowboys ride. The prices aren't bad and it is a long rodeo so it is worth the money. Look around and ask the employees questions. Most of them can tell you about the history and facts about the colliseum. Parking is a little hard. You have to park down by the stockyard station and walk down but it is worth the walk because you can really see how the stockyards use to be.
Bible Factory Outlet is a very classy and nice store to look through especially if you are looking for a religous gift. I bought four bible covers that I couldn't find anywhere else. I was impressed with the amount of religous books and gifts they had. The prices are normal and I wouldn't call it an outlet. There was plenty of parking but you have to walk a long way through Grapevine Mills to get to it. The clerk was very helpful and ordered a special cover for me.
When my friends first wanted to go here I thought that it would be boring but the place is huge and has a restaurant/cafe and bar. We ate and drank and watched the cars then we went and played games. I road a simulator that was very fun and the prices weren't that bad. The drinks and food were a little high but the games are about what it cost anywhere else. Plenty of parking and well worth the money for a fun night out.
I just found Decorators Warehouse when I went looking for a tree for my mom. They had a big bulletin board with easy directions and I found it with no trouble. They had so many wreaths and trees that are decorated so nice and some are very unique. They use a lot of flowers and feathers in trees and wreaths and I was surprised that the prices weren't too bad. The staff was nice and helpful getting a ornament down. Plenty of parking and good hours.
The Dallas World Aquarium is wonderful. It is in downtown Dallas and very easy to get to. There is plenty of parking and the hours are very good. It is a little expensive for a large group but worth it for a day out . They have so many fish I have never seen and each tank is wonderful and makes it look as natural as possible. I love spending hours there walking around. The aquarium is very well kept and a great place to take the kids. It can get crowded- so go early.
We had a Hawaiian party for my neice and needed real hula dancers and we got them from Cathy's Clown's Etc. They showed up early and had everything ready. It was quite a stunning performance and I was more than pleased. The prices are very good and they offer a lot of services including clowns, ponies, etc. Call them if you are having a party because they have everything and make the party even better!
Apartment Locators of DFW was very helpful when I moved here because all I had to do was go in and tell them what I was looking for and how far I wanted to drive from work. They pulled up 10 place and I looked at two and was in an apartment in two weeks. The girl that helped me was very very helpful and spent a long time making sure that I found the place I really liked. They even sent a card afterwards to my new apartment. Very pleased and will go back if I am ever in need of another apartment.
Auntie's Beads is a very cute store on Main Street in Grapevine. They have so many beads and some very nice beads. They also carry a line of jewelry and supplies. I was given a very nice gift certificate to Auntie's Beads and was pleased to find all the beads and tools to make jewelry. They have classes but they are durning work hours so I couldn't go. They are very helpful with helping you pick out the right tools and beads. They can be a little expensive but it seems the carry very high quality items. The watch I bought still works great and looks very nice.
Stockyards Station is history and shopping in one. It is a great historical landmark. It is on the site of the largest cattle feed and processing area in the southwest. They have turned part of it into shops and restaurants. The Tarantula Train comes in twice a day and you can ride it back to Grapevine once you have seen the cowboy shops and eaten some BBQ. There is even a cattle drive twice a day down the middle of the street. Great piece of history and is a great place to take out of town friends.
It is very nice to have HRH20 as a local water park. It isn't very big in comparison to some of the lager parks but it does have some very nice water slides for the kids. They seem to really like it and it is half the price of the bigger parks. There is an area for the little kids and then bigger slides for older kids. It is more for kids from 3 to about 12 than for older kids. The slides are big but not really exciting for the older kids. There is a place for parents to sit and watch. The staff is well trained and nice.
