Alameda Athletic Club is such a fun place to work out. They have a fairly clean facilty and enough equipment their for the number of people that frequent the place. I personally take the step aerobics classes there and love the pace that the instructors use. The have a great routine thats easy to learn and yet challenging to give a great cardio workout.
I would not recommend We Are Hair of Alameda if you want a good hair cut. When I moved to Alameda, I tried them first because I heard good thing about them from some people I know. I was so disappointed when I got the haircut I didnt want. I kept trying to relay what I had in mind but it seemed it was to no avail.
Tomo & Company For Hair is my favorite hair salon. I was referred to them by a co-worker who had been going to this salon for a few years now. Tony is a wonderful hairstylist. All the haircuts Ive gotten from him are hip and cute. Be sure to make an appointment though because he is very popular and has a lot of regulars.
I love the Tuckers Ice Cream shop. They serve delicious ice cream in many wonderful flavors. We held a birthday party here for my daughter and the kids had a blast making their own sundaes from the sundae bar. Ive also ordered their ice cream cakes which are great. They also make their own fudge which are delicious.
The Alameda Pet Hospital is an excellent place to bring your pets for vaccinations or other medical care. They are a full service pet hospital and even have boarding facilities for cats and dogs. Dr. Buchinger is an excellent vet and loves animals. She is highly skilled at her job and is also great with the owners.
Vignettes of Alameda is a gift store that sells greeting cards, decorative accessories, kitchen gadgets, t-shirts, toys and many more. Their store is cute and attractively decorated. In fact, they even have an Alice in Wonderland type of a rabbit hole for kids to explore. The staff is friendly and very helpful.
I been going to the Fabulous On Park Street florist shop for a long time even when they were still located on Encinal Avenue. Their store on Park Street is certainly more attractive with its red walls and black ceiling. They make very beautiful and artistically attractive floral arrangements and the staff are wonderful.
Boniere Bakery makes beautiful cakes for birthdays, weddings, or any occasion. They make very unique and artistically attractive ones. They are not only beautiful but tasty as well. They make this really yummy brioche too that I love to buy and some beautifully decorated petite fours. Theyre expensive but they are delicious.
Pagano;s Hardware is certainly smaller in scale than the big chain stores like Lowes and HomeDepot, but it has more to offer in terms of customer service. They have a pretty good selection of many of the things you need to do those home repairs youve been meaning to do at home. They also have a small parking lot in the back of the store which sometimes fills up fairly quickly.
