Miyako Hotel is pretty - anybody would be lucky to have their wedding held there. But we did not choose it because it was too expansive for what we wanted - we could not bring our own liquer there - and having an open bar would be too expansive.
But we tried the food - it was wonderful! And the reception site looked very modern
When I think of Canterbury Hotel I think of spring and flowers and green leafs. Canterbury Hotel was my number 2 choice reception place for my wedding. IT was so romantic looking inside - the restaurant area is full of greens. The food was extra-ordinary - we got a free food tasting (in 1999) - I ordered filet megnon and it was just perfect. Not only did the food taste good - it looked wonderful. The only reason why we went with a different hotel was because it was less expansive
My boss had a birthday part at the Basque Cultural Center and it was very nice. I did not care for the interior - it was too dark for a day-time even. But the food was wonderful - I had wonderful fish steak and it was very well done. My coworkers had lots of different dishes and they all loved them. We had a wonderful party there and enjoyed my boss's birthday party.
Hotel Adagio is very pretty. I checked it out for my birthday pary (a large birthday party) and I loved it. We had our party there and i was great - every one of our friends and relatives had a wonderful time, ate well, drank well and partied well. We've recieved lots of compliments and my sister actually booked her birthday party there.
I have been to a Waterfront Plaza Hote becuase I wanted to see it for myself when i was looking for a reception hall for my weding. I liked the hotel - it was my choice #3. What I liked about it was the fact that it was on the water, that the food tasted well (we tried and sampled it ourselves a year before) and because it looked great - just what i wanted for my wedding. But we did not go with it because ultimately we wanted something on the other side of the bay - clsoer to where all of our relatives lived
I went to a birthday party reception to Courtyard By Marriott in Emeryville. Everything went very smooth and well. The food served was superb - very delicious and well made - it tasted like gourmet.
The hotel was new looking and smelled fresh - it did not have a must of the older hotel. There was plenty of parking for all the guests.
OVerall - great place - if only i did not have to pay $3 for the bridge
I liked Mandarin Oriental Hotel and it was one of the hotels on my list of consideration for the wedding. However, when first visited it, the ballroom looked a little getto - it was oldish and not well maintained. The hotel itself did look great (this was in 1999) - very lavish, very shick. Also, there is a huge parking stracture (paid) not too far away - very convinient for the guests.
My best friend got married at the Palace Hotel and I had the most wonderful time. The catering was out of this world - the fish was so tasty, the appetizers were light and yet very good. The wine was very tasty. Everybody had a wonderful time, dancing and having fun. Even my best friend - THE BRIDE had a great time at her wedding. I highly recomend Palace Hotel
I considered Queen Anne Hotel when getting married butmy husnad was against it. Somehow, the hotel looked too dark for him - but I liked the architecture and the staff. We had dinner in the restaurant inside and it was very good (food was very important when we were planning a wedding.) We went with another hotel - but if I was getting married again (god forbid) i'd consider this hotel
Wehn I was getting married - I checked this hotel out and it was truly a work of art. It was beautiful and I loved the reception hall as well as the San Francisco archtecture. But because our relatives like to drink a lot at weddings - we needed to be allowed to bring our own alcohol (we make it at home) but Warwick Regis Hotel did not allow us that. That is why we did not choose the hotel
