For Valentine's Day, I'd only been dating my girlfriend for a little over a month and didn't know what to get her. Someone suggested a fish with a note that said she was the cutest fish in the sea. Cheesy, but she loves marine life and aquariums, so I thought she might like it. I went here and was greeted by fish of different colors, sizes - all beautiful and unique, different than your typical minnows, goldfish, and Beta fish at a pet store. I got her a huge aquarium with rare fish, and she loved it. She said she wanted one of those since she was a kid!! This place is great for rare, tropical fish that need fine tuning and a lot of care.
Coventry Cats is a nice store for cat items. My girlfriend got two kittens for her birthday, and I wanted to get the little guys something to play with. I didn't want the standard squishy balls or squeaky mice, and I found a light-up ball for less than $5 that both of them love. They have a lot of unique toys there, some motorized balls that look like they'd give a cat a good work-out, that you don't find in the majority of pet stores. Great selection of items just for cats, with great prices.
WOW, I thought I experienced bowling before I went here! They have cosmic bowling, where the place is pitch black, there's neon lights and glowing balls, which changes the entire bowling experience and makes it a hundred times more fun. We can spend hours on cosmic bowling nights. Great place, a lot of lanes to hold a lot of people, original and more innovative than other lanes.
This is a nice antique store. My grandma doesn't like any modern electronics (radios, TV, even her stove!!) and refuses to even try the latest innovations. Needless to say, when something of hers breaks, it's very difficult to find a replacement from the 1920s - 1950s that suit her needs. Here, I got her an antique clock to replace her
unfixable clock. She was thrilled - it was the identical model! I can only hope they have TVs with knobs rather than remotes when hers inevitably breaks. In the meantime, maybe I'll find something amidst their jewelry, furniture, and other electronics she'd like - they've got it all!
These guys are professional painters... following an accident, my dad couldn't move his back very well to paint himself, and my mom didn't trust herself or me to do the job. Our bathroom was in major need of a painting, and they did a great job. We picked out the colors
ourselves, and they got to work. No streaks, bubbles, uneven tones - just perfectly smooth, nicely-done job. They didn't drip onto our carpet or bathtub, either, awesome!
When my fiance and I got engaged, we wanted professional pictures taken for our wedding. We hired them and couldn't have been more pleased. They have a great eye for shoots, make good suggestions for body positions and angle, and took some amazing pictures! We actually struggled finding one or two of our favorites because there were so many "winners." I'd never hesitate to go work with them again - they are terrific photographers!!
PROS: Beautiful, high-quality pictures
When it came time for me to move out of my parents' house and into my own apartment, I used this moving company to move my stuff. Their trucks were really spacious, they were helpful offering suggestions on how to pack them up and avoid damaging your goods, and they were really courteous and accommodating to your schedule. Their prices are very reasonable. They helped the transition to my own pad go very well. :]
My favorite jeans got some grass stains in them one dewy fall morning. I put cold water on the stains immediately, and soaked them with some stain-remover spray, but I didn't want to take the chance of washing
them myself and potentially allowing the stains to set in. I took them to Budget Dry Cleaners, thinking they'd be the most helpful in getting them out. I held my breath, and in a day, they called me. Turns out, they came out! I don't know if washing them regularly would've worked as well, but since they are my prized Diesel jeans, I wasn't going to risk it. Thanks for the great service, and I'll be back with future grass stains, I'm sure!
My girlfriend loves antique books. We were on a date and stumbled across The Bookaneer, and she pulled me inside. She found a lot of things she loved, and surprisingly, I did too! I love Robin Cook medical thriller books, and he has a few rare ones that are hard to
come by. In here, I actually found one I'd been looking for for a while! She came out loaded with a few collectible books, too. Friendly staff, great finds, good prices!
This shoe store is the only one I ever go to anymore. I was able to find everything here - shoes that met my high school's graduation dress code requirements, sneakers for basketball and running, and accessories to go with it, like spray that repels liquids and dust and laces to change up with. They have so many different styles, colors, and sizes that you're sure to find what you're looking for. A+ store.
