My friend an I went to Busy Body Home Fitness but we really did not like the place. We have heard however, from many people, that they adore Busy Body Home Fitness and that is why I don't want ot give Busy Body Home Fitness low star ratings. The people workin at the Busy Body Home Fitness were just not super knowledgable and I just fealt that I wasted my hr going to Busy Body Home Fitness.
Club Sansome is probably the most expansive club that I have belonged to. I have lasted 3 months there because I just could not afford the monthly fees.
In terms of workouts, I think Club Sansome by Power Bodies is superb. It offers custom workouts for people that belong to the gym.
Trainers seem to be well informed of what they need to be teaching the general public. They are very nice as well.
I liked the club but it was a little overpriced for me.
I took one aerobics class at the Apex Wellness the day I decided to check out the gym. I have to say that I was not impressed. I did not develop much sweat and the workout just did not seem worth the time that I spent away from my family. The instructor was timid and did not feel to fire a spark in me - somethng that is super important, in my opinion, in the aerobics instructor. Overall, I did not like the gym.
I lived on embarcadero stree for 4 monts and I decided to join 3rd Street Gym because I heard that the exersise classes were fun there. I went to the boxing class - and OH MY GOD - what a workout! I do not think I have ever left the class that tired. In 4 months that I took the class, I became more toned and lean and developed muscles in places I did not think muscles existed. Definately a great club to join!
I have gone to Crunch Fitness to take an exersise class there with my girlfriend. Parking is tough around Crunch Fitness but I guess parking in San Francisco is tough no-matter where you go. The classes were fine - not bad but not outstanding. The gym was a good space gym considering the location of the gym on Van Ness. OVerall, I won't go there again just because it is out of the eway for me but I can recomend it to those that live in the area.
New Empire Health Club is a nice health club in San Francisco. It is not terribly big but the location for me is superb. I can leave work for an hour, exersise and come back refreshed and rejuvenated.
I have even used massage therapy services in the club once - that fealt GREAT!!!!!
I like the club and the fees are not outrageous. I definately recomend this place.
Although the kind of yoga tought at the Funky Door Yoga may not be for everyone, I really enjoyed coming to Funky Door Yoga center. I liked doing yoga in a hot room. The poses were very precise and allowed me to use my concentration and not fall asleep. Because the instructor was very maticulate - I probably did my poses the best i have ever done them. I really liked Funky Door Yoga and although I only went there once, I will gladly come back there again!
I am not a huge fan of athletic clubs because I do not like their machines that much. I love exersese classes - they keep me awake, alert and willing to commit. But Eastern Athletic Clubs was a very nice club to belong too. The membership fees were not outragous and I just did not feel bad if I skipped a week of exersizing. I liked the cycling machines and the stair-master-like machines. So, overall, not a bad club to belong to.
I generally feel that Yoga is not for me - it is to slow and just does not justify the time that I spend away from home. However, when I lived in New York, I stumbled upon Jivamukti Yoga Center by an accident, took a yoga class there and loved it. The pace was not too slow, the class was not "lets close our eyes and stretch" kind of class. It was just right and I was hooked. I went there once a week for 6 months and really enjoyed my classes. I highly recomend Jivamukti Yoga Center to anyone interested or not interested in Yoga.
I love this Boxing Gym. What an awsome idea to allow people to exersise without boring gym equipment. This fitness salon is really meant for people that are serious about working but do not want big boring bulky equipment to steer them along.
When I lived in New York, I belonged to this place for a year and loved it. If I did not move, I would still be there!
