I needed my haircut and happened to be close to A Cut Above so I thought I would give it a try. Big mistake. First off the young girl behind the desk barely acknowleged me. When I asked if anyone was available she said no. Another employee said they were free in about 15 minutes. So I waited. About 30 minuters later after watching the employee chat about her weekend plans she took me back and was very rude and put out the entire time. She made several remarks that I didn't appreciate and I feel like I was way overcharged for the haircut I received. I will never go there again.
I used to love going to Ridge Runner Naturals for all the intersting and unique merchandise. I always knew I could go their and find the perfect gift. i was a little disappointment however the last time I shoped there. They seemed to have switched their focus to high-end, expensive artwork, furniture and decor. I miss the large selection of outdoor themed gifts, childrens books and novelties.
You can tell what time of year it is by the line coming out of Barber Orchard. A locally owned and operated orchard, Barber's carefully picks and sells every native apple and even has a fully functioning bakery in the back turning out freshly-made pies, turnovers, muffins and other yummy treats. They also sell several lines of homemade jellies, jams and spreads. They will even ship their goods anywhere in the U.S. in festive tins and boxes. We look forward to going to Barber Orchards every year.
When my car was damaged in an parking lot, I had to get 3 written estimates to repair the damage. Taylor Motor was not only the friendliest repair shop, but the cheapest as well. They got my car right in, offered me a loner car and even offered to deliver my fixed car to me. You just don't find service like that everywhere. I was impressed with the job they did and will go there again if the need arises.
When chosing an eye doctor, I made appointment with Dr. Roberson because I liked the fact that his office was conviently located on Main Street. The staff was very nice and I did not have to wait long. I was unimpressed however with some of the equipment used. It seemed very out-dated and old. I noticed Dr. Roberson eating his lunch during my appointment time and when he examined my eyes he smelled like the onions he just ate. Not very professional in my opinion. He examined my eyes and ordered me new contacts due to eye irritation. He failed to find that I actaully had an eye infection requiring a Rx that I found out from another eye doctor. The rest of the staff was very nice but I am afraid it may be time for Dr. Roberson to retire.
Polly's florist offers a wide selection of floral arrangements for all occassions. They have samples illustrating the different bouquets available and will accomodate any special requests. The employees are always cheerful and friendly and look like they enjoy the business they are in. Flowers are delivered on time and always exceed expectation.
When we were looking to have a chain-link fence intalled, we called several companies to get the best deal. i called Spencers Fencers and the girl who answered the phone could not even tell me what they charges. She simple said she didn't know and didn't even offer to find out. Certainly this is information that all employees should have access to. I had her take my name and number and asked for someone to call back with their prices. I never received a phone call and I took my busniness elsewhere. Very disappointing.
When we had a problem with our heat-pump, we opened up the phone book and called the first place in the book. Air Rite Heating and Cooling promptly took our call and had someone out to service our heat pump within a few hours. The worker quickly identified the problem, returned to the shop for the needed part and came back to install the new part. Over night another problem occured and once again they sent someone righ out and fixed the faulty switch and didnot even charge us for the second service call. Although I hope we don't need them again, I would definately use them again.
Haywood Pediatrics recently moved into a brand new, beautiful building that has helped correct some of the ills of their old establishment. The waiting room is divided to seperate healthy children from the sick ones and the newborns from the main waiting area which is a good thought but should be enforced in order to minimize the spread of germs. Being the only pediatric practice in the county, the office is often crowded and the nurses and doctors are rushed. I question their sterility as my child got a infected finger after having blood drawn with no attempt at cleaning her finger and after a bandaid was placed on the open wound that was already open and stuck to a nurses shirt. I often feel as if my questions aren't being answered and that my children are being herded in and out.
