I just happened to wonder into the Bible Factory Outlet when I was at the mall and was surpised at all they had. I found two gifts and my total was under 20 dollars. They have children's bibles that are really neat and I got my grandmother a large print bible because she can't see as well anymore. The clerk was fine- not overly helpful but I found what I needed very quickly. I will go back and look around. They said they run sales sometimes too!
Who doesn't like to get flowers-- but what is better than flowers- flowers you can eat. I got an arrangement from Edible Arrangements and didn't want to eat it because it was so pretty but is looked so good too! This is the most unique delivery I have ever gotten! Check out the website. The prices are really good and they are so nice! Customer service is number one with them!
Alice's was the first on my list when a friend asked me to help her plan her wedding. I arranged to get the freeze dried petals to match her colors and we couldn't have been happier with them. We were afraid that they would stain her dress but they were great. We even used them in the wedding pictures with the bride surrounded by them--lovely! The prices are better than you can expect! Call Alice and she will take care of you!
I was invited to a party at Color Me Mine and was surprised at how much fun it is. I guess it is the new trendy thing to do.. make your own art. I made a picture frame and was going to gift it as a gift- I ended up keeping it for myself I loved it so much. The prices are really good and depend on the piece you make. The staff makes sure you know what you are doing and are really helpful. Just ask because that is what they are there for!
I had driven past Brad's before and never thought about going in until I read a review! Now I am hooked. The place isn't very organized, they don't have the cute little room set ups, and the parking is horrible but the furniture is good and CHEAP! Not cheap but inexpensive. If you are looking for furniture- go to Brad's - trust me- you won't be disappointed. The sales staff was very nice and helped me find the sofa I wanted and I couldn't believe the price. They even have layaway - but with the prices- who needs it! And check out the 1/2 price area-- I didn't see much there that I was interested but they say it changes all the time!
Fort Worth Zoo is one of the best in the world and you never leave there feeling disappointed. They have the animals grouped into the areas that they would be in the wild. They have savanahs, plains, woods, etc. They have gone to the farthest lengths to make the animals feel like they are in the wild. The gorilla house is amazing and you get really close to them but there is a huge moat between you and them. They have glass areas were you are a foot away from them -amazing. The price is around $8 dollars a person. You can find discount tickets around -- it is so worth a day trip!
From the outside the Dallas World Aquarium you don't think it has as much to offer as it does. They have so many tanks and even have penguins! They have a rainforest area that is neat and they have lizards and frogs in there too. They have sharks that my neice loves to watch. It is so worth the price. Don't rush thru-- take your time and soak it all in. You can spend a good 5 to 6 hours there looking at all the exhibits!
I didn't have time to sell my antique clock on E-bay and didn't have an account so I took it to Carried Away and had them sell if for me. They did a good job- they did charge a lot though. This service if for really expensive things you want to sell- that is the only way you will make money but it is a good service for busy people or for people who don't know much about E-bay.
I like the Dallas Zoo... not as much as Fort Worth but the Dallas Zoo makes for a great day out. They have a lot of really unique exhibits and animals. The zoo could use an update but it is a nice zoo non the less. There is a great gorilla exhibit. To find the zoo, look for the huge garaffe off the highway.. that or the Zoo McDonalds.
When my aunt was in town she wanted TEXAS stuff - I had remembered Tolbert's Texas Gifts on Main Street in Grapevine. We had such a fun time shopping for my cousins and her friends. We found a lot of unique Texas items. This is a good shop for tourist or for those sending gifts to people outside of Texas. Some are cheesy and some of the gifts are actually really nice.
