I always end up taking my friends to Pamela's for Sunday breakfast. Though there's usually a wait, it's well worth it. The corned beef hash and crepe pancakes are unusual and delicious items, and the rest of the breakfast menus is delightful as well. Neat 50s atmosphere and fast service makes this place a classic!
Located in the heart of Oakland, Hemingway's is a great place for a hearty lunch or dinner. The menu has a variety of burgers, pizza, salads, etc., and both food and service are spectacular.
Hightops is THE place to watch Pittsburgh sports! Located just across from PNC park in the North Side, Hightops is always packed for Steeler games, Pitt games, and occasionally Penn State games as well. They have great bar food (appetizers, etc.) and plenty of delightful beers. Perfect for any sports fan!
Mario's is a great place to hang out and meet up! Conveniently located in the South Side, this bar has a great atmosphere and friendly staff. The drinks are reasonably priced, and there is always a great crowd. Enjoy!
Matrix has a great club atmosphere. Thursday nights in the summer are by far the best, because you can see girls in their most ridiculous outfits and frat boys dressed to the nines. I always run into someone I know there, and everyone loves Matrix. Just be sure you're in the mood for techno, 80's, salsa, or hip-hop; Matrix has a room for each.
Murphy's Tap Room is one of those neighborhood bars that you can't help but love. It has a mediocre selection of beer and liquor, but you go for the Regent Square Pittsburgh atmosphere. At this bar, you will find good people, good times, and if you're lucky, true love.
This bar has a charming atmosphere. There is plenty of bar food available, as well as many beers available. The lighting is pretty dim, but overall it has good service and fun people!
The Beehive, located on Carson Street in the historic South Side, is a Pittsburgh gem. Containing many types of coffees and teas, as well as one of the friendliest staffs in the city, the Beehive is a great place to grab drinks or snacks and enjoy a unique atmosphere. Hand-painted and -crafted art provide plenty of conversation starters, and wi-fi and smoke-free areas make this place unbeatable!
This Wendy's, conveniently located near Bloomfield, Shadyside, and Oakland, is perfect for late-night snacking. It opens at 11 a.m., and closes around 5 a.m., so you're pretty much guaranteed good service! Be careful of the drive-thru, because the entrance is tricky, but always expect good food and service!
Doc's Place is a great, friendly neighborhood bar. It has relatively good prices for the Shadyside area. In addition, they have high-quality spirits and plenty of beers. Highly recommended for anyone of legal age!
