3 years ago, I had a skiing accident and broke the ACL (Anterior Cruciate Ligament) on my left knee and this review is about my experience with Dr David Bell.
I am a special case since I am double jointed. What that means that my knee bends behind my legs far more than most normal people. Dr Bell was fantastic. He did not push me into surgery, gave me all the options including advantages and disadvantages of not operating.
When I decided to go ahead with the surgery, he first put me on physiotherapy and asked the physio to work me hard to strengthen all muscles in my knee. He uses a method invented and patented by him where he removes the hamstring graft through the arthroscopic holes used for surgery. this eliminates another cut in the back of the thigh and hence leaves you with no sensitivity in the thigh. The operation must have been flawless because following is the result
I am 100% healed and I don't even realize I had operation on my knee, Sometimes I have to remind myself.
Net-Net. I hope you never need an ACL surgery. If you do, then go with Dr. Bell. He is the absolute best in my opinion.
I have a 2.5 yr old son. Here is what happened. Judge for yourself.
1. My son has been sick for 3 days and I had to take him to a pediatrician. My original pediatrician at pamf was on maternity leave and so I call in the appointment desk and my problems begin. The lady in the appointment desk was nothing short of a thug. She tried to force me to accept an appointment with a doctor who is not covered in my insurance. When I was asking for alternatives she says "What the hell is the problem with you. Why dont you accept the doctor we allot to you?".
As for my first visit with the original doctor a couple of months ago, I asked a general question as to whether he is feeling uneasy because his tooth is coming out. The reply I got was, 'What do you expect from a 2 yr old'?
Most alarming was that they were going to vaccinate my son a second time for polio by mistake since the doctor did not take the time to read my sons chart before the appointment and was in a hurry. When my wife insisted he had a vaccination already, she want back to check and said 'Oh Ok. I missed that'
I am not sure if these people are under pressure but I will NEVER take my son to this factory. I really miss my old pediatrician for 2.5 yrs who was extremely helpful and caring. We had to switch since their practice became a Kaiser only facility.
This is an unfortunate of Excellent doctors matched with the most inefficient front office. I had an ACL with Dr. Bell who is fantastic, very good listener and very smart and efficient. I am very pleased with the operation. But here comes the bad part. Its two weeks after surgery now and he had asked his staff to send out a physiotherapy note to my physiotherapist and the office staff is yet to deliver on that. You will have to push for the littlest of things. Office staff can completely engate the greatness and effictiveness of the doctors there. I would never go again there and try to see if I can get Dr. Bells help through some other office
PROS: V.Good Doctors
CONS: Crippling office staff
We had a baby last september and choose Dr. Kamini Narang of this group as our pediatrician. She is an excellent doctor with lots of patience who does not believe in prescribing a drug for anything and everything. She does so only if necessary and teaches measures to eliminate the root cause of an illness rather than just prescribing a drug to supress the symptoms. She is very knowledgeable with grandma remedies and knows which one of them works and which does not.
The group in general has a very cordial environment. They moved to a new building behing Costco which is new and is being maintained very well. The reception staff is friendly and the group is open on sat and sun for emergencies.
PROS: Flexible, competent, not an drug happy practice
