I love Humperdink's for it's beer. The calamari appetizer is not bad either. If you have never been and you like beer, you have to try their sampler and be amazed at the difference in the flavor of their beers. They always have had good food and it's not a bad place for kids. Mostly, though, I would go for a big game or after hitting Six Flags or a baseball game. They also have a club you can join and get free food every now and then.
Shipley's has a great selection of donuts and the best sausage rolls in town. Love to go...it's worth the trip but we unfortunately don't make it very often.
I love Movie Tavern! Ten times better than that other Chain place. You can get a full meal with wine or beer, just dessert or just popcorn and soda. I also love that I can get ICED TEA at a theater. I don't drink soda like everyone else in my family, so this is a big deal for me. The service is okay. They are really good at first but as the movie progresses you might our might not get any refills. But hey...at any other theater you don't even get offered refills! Love the offer of the Tavern Tanker...but it's a little more beer than I can handle in one sitting. The food has always been good and I like the relaxed atmosphere. Also, lately they have been having pancakes and a movie for $10 each on Saturday morning. It's always a kid friendly movie...what a way to start the weekend! The kids love it when we go.
I've only been there once, but was really impressed with the pizza. Also, it's really cool that they cook in a real brick oven which makes the pizza have a really crispy crust. I'm looking forward to going back. The service was great and the only complaint was that the salad was average.
Buck-n-loons has the best of both worlds. You can sit in the bar and get away from it all or you can take the kids and let them play in the game room. They do fundraisers all the time for everyone from schools to YMCA sports teams. They support the community a lot. It kind of makes living in the city feel a little more down home! Go BUCKS! We have never had a bad experience there. Love the Bucks chips, the Ultimate Frito pie and the hamburgers. Oh, did I mention the roast beef dinner and the rolls? Oh, I don't know what happened to the lady with the beef about the hamburgers and fried pies but she must live on a higher budget than most. The fried pies are awesome and the price is great! I forgot about Cheap BEER!!!!
Next to Joe T's in Fort Worth this is my favorite place to go for Mexican food. Love the food and the chips and the salsa. You have to go around Christmas and see their lights. My kids always have loved the train and they will put cherries in your soda! We go here all the time. It's close to home and the food, service and prices are great! Look in the paper and you can always find a coupon.
This place has good Mexican food. We have been there about 3 times and have always had a good experience. It's a nice place and close to home. Prices are good too.
I have always heard about Joe T.'s but since we live in Arlington we never made the time to go. I'm sorry we waited so long! They have the BEST fajitas and margaritas I've ever had. My husband who doesn't drink even liked the margaritas. The atmosphere is great too! Love the outdoor garden patio. You can even have large dinner parties there. You will not wait long even if the line looks really long. The service is great and fast. This is the true meaning of doing one thing and doing it well!
By far Daylight Donuts are the best donuts. I have done a comparison recently for price verse value and Daylight Donuts are by far the best value. I know that's crazy but it was fun. We bought donuts at several local donut shops including 2 chain donut shops and Daylight was by far a better donut for the price. The flavor, texture, size and quality of the donut is by far better at Daylight. If you get a chance stop by and give them a try. They have Maple...my husbands favorite!
Dr. La and his staff have been our dentist for years. We miss Dr. Kavanaugh (RIP) but we still love Dr. La. He can give a shot and you will barely feel it. I've had dentists that made you feel like they loved shoving a 3 inch needle into your gums to cause you pain. I had a crown put on by another dentist that had to be replaced. The one the other dentist put on had a gap and cause decay within 2 or 3 years. The one Dr. La put on has lasted for almost 9 years. They don't see children under 5 but they are very family friendly and they have always tried to see all my family in one day. When my son was little they would bring him crayons to color with while I was being treated. They have always been very helpful. They even serve the dental phobics.
