I don't know why it's called a Bar & Grill because I never saw a bar. The food is really good if you're looking for typical Americanized Mexican food. The chicken rice soup is really yummy. And they have my favorite desserts - sopapillas and fried ice cream.
It's not too expensive, and they have take out too.
PROS: Typical Mexican, close by
CONS: A little crowded inside
I ordered from Inglis many times from work. They do gorgeous arrangements of seasonal flowers. You can tell them how much you're looking to spend, and they'll make something up to fit.
They also have really cute novelty arrangements, such as flowers potted in a painted watering can or arrangements in a ceramic baby carriage.
They do deliver.
PROS: Great flowers, Terrific customization
CONS: Can get a little expensive
The Scrapbook Store is located in the Green Valley Mall, off the freeway exit for Esperanza. It has tons of patterned paper, cute eyelets, die cuts, embellishments, stamps, inks, embossing powders...just about anything you could want for scrapbooking.
They offer inexpensive classes on things like making cards, using patterned paper, or making a "Book of Me." When classes are not meeting, you can use the workroom for free, using materials you purchase or bringing your own.
Once a year, they also host a 'scrapbook yard sale' where you can sell off things you're not using anymore or buy new, fun things at a bargain.
PROS: Great stock, Classes, Free workroom
CONS: A little hard to find
While Blue Chip does sell whole computer systems, I find they are most valuable as a source for computer parts.
They carry Western Digital, which is my favorite brand for cheap, but reliable, parts. Prices are more than reasonable, and there is enough selection to get what you want, whether it's top-of-the-line or budget.
They can also repair and diagnose computer problems.
PROS: Good value on parts, helpful/knowledgeable staff
CONS: Smaller store than big chains
Two wards meet in this building--Sahuarita 1st Ward and Sahuarita 2nd Ward.
The boundaries for first ward go roughly out to Houghton along Sahuarita Rd. up to the east side of La Canada. In Rancho Sahuarita, first ward boundaries are roughly south of Camino Rancho Tierra. Second ward boundaries extend from the west side of La Canada out to Magee Ranch and north of Tierra in Rancho Sahuarita. If you're unsure which ward you fall in, the Bishop at the number listed can tell you.
In 2006, First Ward meets from 9-12, beginning with Sacrament meeting, followed by Sunday School, then Auxiliary meetings. Second Ward meets from 1-4, with the same order of meetings. The Wards swap meeting schedules each year.
PROS: Very friendly wards, Great Bishops
Because of the local demographic, there is a wide selection of older books. There are a lot of romance novels, a fair number of classics, and some old-school science fiction. There aren't as many current books, but you can find those cheap online anyway.
Second Look is fun to browse for vintage books. I even found an original publication of Childe Harold by Lord Byron. For $5.
PROS: Great old books
CONS: Limited selection, fewer recent books
Jim was my parents' broker when they moved to Tucson in 1995. When my husband and I were looking for a home in Sahuarita, we gave him a call. Surprisingly, he remembered my family. He did some research for homes similar to the ones we had been looking at, so we could compare and have options. He helped us get what we want.
The main advantage of having Jim was that he knows the business. He has connections and recommended a good inspector for us. He made the whole process go very smoothly. Then he sent a gorgeous dress for our daughter who was born about 3 months after closing.
We still get lovely Norman Rockwell calendars from him.
PROS: Experienced, Connected
I have been very impressed with Dr. Sonya Hess, who is one of the doctors at Comprehensive Medical Care. She is a family doctor, so she sees my husband and I as well as our children. She is very good with my kids. My 3-year-old daughter loves going to the doctor. Dr. Hess gives stickers to her and lets her see the equipment. She explains my options well, and gives advice based on her own parenting experience as well as medical expertise. She is flexible and willing to work with how I want to handle care.
PROS: Great for adults and kids
CONS: Long wait for new patients
I've had two children at St. Joseph's, and I have been very impressed.
The rooms are painted cheerful colors and decorated with curtains and pictures. The nursery is terrific. There are enough nurses, and they take very good care of you. I even enjoyed the food! And the nurses showed me where I could find a fridge stocked with extras in case I got hungry.
My family doctor doesn't visit the hospital, but the on-call pediatricians are excellent.
PROS: Great maternity floors, Awesome nurses
CONS: Somewhat limited parking
Golf N Stuff is your typical miniature golf and arcade amusement park. They also have bumber boats, batting cages, laser tag, and go karts.
It is getting a little older, so some of the bumber boat engines smoke. The majority of attractions are in good repair, however.
The laser tag area is an inflated enclosure. I have found at times that the air pressure is a little low, especially if you are in a corner. It is large enough to play a fun round, but it's not as spectacular as some I've seen.
It is nice that the miniature golf allows children under 5 to play free with an adult--if you're brave enough to take a child!
PROS: Not bad prices, nice variety
CONS: A little old
