We had seasons passes last season and are not planning to purchase them this year. The park is fun for the kids, but the food prices are through the roof (I think they've even topped Disney's food prices!) and the food is just okay most times. The thing that left a sour taste in my mouth was the fact that at the end of the season, we were going into the park with our season passes and they decided that my son was tall enough that we would have to start paying for him. We argued the point and they finally said he just met the height requirement to not have to pay. I can understand them requiring him to pay the next season, but we were faced with having to spend a whole lot more money for either a season's pass (the season was almost over) or a single day kid's admission - which is not cheap, especially when you are planning on an inexpensive day out!
My son attended Hazardville Daycare for a little less than a year before I was finally pushed to find alternate daycare for him. While the girs that were directly responsible for his care were fantastic, the management was horrible. The owner was very inconsistant with parents (would let one do something and not the next) and her daughter (who was some sort of supervisor) was horrific to deal with. You can find much better childcare in the Enfield area (and better rates to boot!).
I have had carpets installed by several contractors in past jobs and M&T is top rate. Their installers are professional and efficient. They are quick and even more impressive - they clean up after themselves!! Nice variety of carpet/pads to choose from. I would use them again in the future.
Carl's has great rates for apliance repair. We called several places when we had a problem with our convection oven and Carls was by far the cheapest and was able to come out days before all of the others (pretty important when you don't have a working oven). The service tech was knowledgable and nice and fixed the problem quickly. About $50 for parts and labor and we were back to cooking!
Benedettos has beautiful, fresh flowers every time I visit. They always have a nice selection of flowers and lots of nice gifts to accompany your flower purchase. When I had my son, my husband had an arrangement done up with a teddy bear that said "Mom" on it. They always seem to have just the right thing for that special occasion. This is a family owned business and the people who own it are top rate - very professional and so nice.
PROS: Nice variety, friendly staff
Shady Glen was a weekly routine for us on every Thursday growing up. A cute little diner with the best homemade food in the area. Everything is done from scratch (no instant mashed potatoes here!) and delicious! I always try to stop in when I am in the area for a taste of the past!
PROS: Awesome food at great prices
CONS: Small, limited seating
My husband and I stopped in late on a Saturday evening after an early show to browse for new living room furniture. This was the first store we went to look at, just to get an idea of what styles we liked and what kind of price range we needed to be in. The sales man immediately met us as we got off the elevator and proceeded to follow us around the entire showroom even though we made it clear that we were just looking. He convinced my "easy to sell to" husband that we should buy a white living room set that was not even close to what we needed (with a toddler, dog and 3 cats, white is just not an option). My husband and I left the store bickering because this guy was so determined to sell us a set that night. It just drives me crazy when sales people will not take no for an answer! I will not go back to that store in the future - we bought our set from IKEA instead (and saved $1500!).
PROS: Decent selection
CONS: Annoying sales people
My husband bought me a 30 day unlimited tanning package to Fancy Tans for Christmas so I could get tan before our vacation in Feb. The beds were ok, but I had to clean them myself before and after use. The girls that work there were always nice, but never held a conversation because I don't think they spoke fluent English. It was very difficult to understand what they were telling me to do. I am very fair skinned and they wanted me to go right into the bed for 15 minutes on my first visit (I think). I knew from past experience that 15 mins was far too long, so I used my judgement, but it was a bit unnerving to know that the people running the place had no clue how to advise people on how long to stay in.
PROS: convenient location
CONS: staff not able to give advice if you do not know much about tanning beds
I have used Mike's Plumbing for the business that I run and they do great work. Are good about getting quotes before work is performed and work is usually done within a few days (unless it is an emergency). Have enjoyed working with them.
Have used these guys for the apartments that I work at and they are great! Very reliable even when they get calls at 2 AM. They do a great job and their prices are the best in the area.
