Having graduated from this district ourselves, my husband and I have been evaluating our options for our oldest son who will begin Kindergarten this fall.
The class sizes ARE huge, the teachers over worked and the students under cared for. The best option we had would have our son going to a school with only 50% of student passing grade level standards! That is crazy!
So we have decided to homeschool. He is very excited and already learning a lot--this is the best option for us. Hopefully things will get better and I am for being proactive to help that along for all Minneapolis children-- but until things ARE better-our son will not be going there.
This last winter our furnace died a quick but painful death. Of course this was during the coldest month we'd had in years!
Last winter it was a deathly ill furnace but after a month of fiddling by a different company than this-- it was revived. A whole different story for another review......
Anyway, afterlast yearsagonizingexperience we wereabsolutelyfloored when David showedup and actually wentto work--- andFAST! He minced no words, we needed a new furnace. No messing with us trying to milk us of money fixing a dead one! We conceeded and he had the new one oredered, received and installed within 2 daysof the initial consultation.
Excellent price and fast competent service! Superpersonality. Kept us informed and called us to m ensure inspections were passed and everything was working. He seemed to actually care! Great guy- GREAT company!
We have brought our cats here for a long time and have never been disappointed with the care or service. The prices are very competetive and they really care. They take the time play with your pet and calm them if they are nervous-- They don't just poke and prod. If an overnight stay is required they make them very comfortable and take time to call and keep you updated! I have never seen such involved Vets before and recommend them highly!
This health care complex is first rate! Not only does it house many excellent providers but the management itself is superb. We frequent here for their urgent care for our children, I have been to the breast health clinic, and one son the the ENT specialists there.
Each and every time we have been impressed with the assistance of the help and information desk and pharmacy. Just last week we were there and it was pouring down raining and as we walk past on our way to our car they chase us down to offer us a complimentary umbrella to keep us dry! Okay- an umbrella is not a big deal-- but that kind of consideration is a big deal! They truly go the extra mile to make yourday a little easier!
We have visited this urgent care................many times-lol- with 2 little boys. Of course children always get sick on a weekend!
The wait times have always been reasonable-less than half an hour- but to me that is very good considering you don't have an appointment. The nurses have been gentle and pleasant. The doctors have always been very helpful, diagnosing and treating ailments quickly. Great reporte with children and comforting to parents.
We have been extremely happy with the care received here.
We had to bring our son her this last winter when he was 3 months old for Croup. Any parent can tell you what a middle of the night trip to the ER will do to you- break down! The nurses were wonderful at helping us take care of him while we waited for a very sweet doctor to come and look him over. It was not crowded at all and we were treated very well. They gave him treatment, encouraged us and sent us home. They didn't make us feel stupid for worrying but helped rest assured that he would be okay-lol. Thier bedside manor eased a scary situation and knowledgable treatment helped him mend quickly.
What was once an awesome idea-- community center, fitness center in one, has gone down hill in Minneapolis. The city YMCA's are in poor repair, dirty, and well, kind of scary! The membership fees are outrageous considering you could get a pampered club experience for less now-a-days. I do appreciate that the offer scholarships to those who can't pay the high price---but good grief, it's not worth it no matter whether you can afford it or not!
This is the best mexican restaraunt ever!
My husband and I were first exposed to their delicious recipes at a street fair in Stillwater on our Honeymoon 8 years ago. We had gotten some nachos from a tent that had this amazing cheese sauce that is hard to explain. We had no idea what restaraunt had made it! How depressed! LOL
Finally they redecorated a few years back and we noticed their bold new Restaraunt front and wondered, could this be it? So we gave it a try and we were right!
The food is to die for. Taco bell it is NOT. Fresh and tasty!
We have been to A LOT of studios trying to find a good deal with knowledgable photographers. Thought it was impossible to have those 2 things together! With kids it is really hard to find someone patient and good with children.
We actually have had 2 great experiences so far with this studio and will be returning. The 2 ladies that photographed our boys spent alot of time playing with them and hamming it up so they would be comfortable with her. She didn't get annoyed when they wouldn't sit still and didn't mind taking her time and extra shots.
PROS: Great service
CONS: DO NOT GO WITHOUT COUPONS! Pricey.
We used them for portraits some time ago and enjoyed the experience. The photographers took their time and didn't rush. They made smart suggestions and helped us pick backgrounds and wardrobe. They took an abundance of shots and had the proofs ready fast to chose from. The prices are kind of high but you can buy the copyright to the photos and get them printed elswhere for cheaper.
