Frock Of Ages
Browsing at this store is a wonderful experience. Although somewhat small, this store store has much to offer -- a wonderful selection of vintage clothing (dating back, I think from the 20's?), an incredible selection of unique and stylish hats, and beautiful jewelry. The owners have done a fabulous job assemblingand displaying a fabulous array of beautiful fashions. It is clear they take pride in their store and love their work. Expect vintage store pricing...
General Book Store
I visisted this location when the my daughter's college bookstore ran out of inventory on a text book she needed, and was pleased to find they not only had the text, but had inventory in used books that was less than the campus location. I later found this to be true for another college as well. From what I understand from neighbors, I believe they may also carry materials for homeschoolers, although I have never personally shopped there for those type items.
Kim's Expert Alterations
When my family went on a cruise a few years ago, I took several pieces of formal evening attire to Kims to be altered.
Workmanship was excellent and the turnaround was fast.
The focus on customer service is apparent - quality work, quick turnaround, reasonable pricing make this shop one that I would recommend to others.
Owens Flower Shop & Greenhouses Inc
This shop never fails to please. Beautiful arrangements and corsages for that special occassion! My daughters have been delighted with the flowers they received from this great florist -- whether bouquets received from boyfriends or corsages for proms and homecoming. Staff is always friendly and helpful.
Eddie's Trick & Novelty Shop
Eddie's Trick Shop, located in the heart of Marietta on the Marietta Square, is known for its wonderful selection of costumes and accessories. It has the best selection of masks - ranging from satirical political masks, classic horror, various cartoon, pop culture, animals, Mardi Gras styled - you name it! They carry a broad selection of costumes - both for purchase as well as to rent. Every costume detail can be found here, from wigs, to footwear, accessories, and stage makeup. I was thrilled to discover that that store offers a discount to those involved with theatrical productions at local schools -- a real plus as my daughter has been in all of her high school's productions and always had to secure her own costuming. One draw back however -- the store does not offer cash refunds. Returns are for store credit only, so be sure about your selection before you purchase.
Vintage By Judith-Costumes
Vintage by Judith is a wonderful shop with a large selection of unique and vintage clothing. Be prepared when you visit, however as pricing can be suprisingly high for some items (pricing on some merchandise does not match or reflect the value of the item - overly inflated for clothing that would not be classified as true "vintage" if you were to see it in other cities). I was somewhat put off by the .... condescending... atttitude of the owner who treated my teenager somewhat rudely when we visited.
Elyse W. Glaser, MD
I visisted this doctor when I first came to the Atlanta area and was very pleased with her. She is knowledgable, thorough, gentle, and compassionate. I have suffered from hypothyroidism for over 20 years. I felt I received the best care I have ever received when I was in her care. I only changed doctors when the company I worked for at the time changed insurance plans and she was no longer one of my available options for covered care. I hope to return to her as my health has declined and I have had continous problems with my thyroid of late and my current physician has not been able to regulate my condition successfully. She was wonderful...
Piedmont Physicians Of Vinings
Although I live in Marietta and am not far from several other hospital options, Piedmont Hospital has been my choice of facility whenever major events have occurred with my family requiring medical care. I have found that some of the specialists associated with this facility to be among the best that Atlanta has to offer. My 71 year old mother had been having problems with black outs where she would literally collapse unexpectedly, sustaining injuries from serious falls. She sought care at another hospital and several doctors. When she went to Piedmont for consultation - they admitted her immediately for emergency pacemaker surgery and told her that she might not have survived had she not come there that day! (she had been complaining of problems to other facilities for months!) She has not had a problem since. My late father, who suffered from Parkinson's disease, had a number of stays at Piedmont. His neurologist was one of the leading specialists in that area. We did have one terrible experience with a particular gastro doctor who was horribly rude and unprofessional. I guess no place is perfect.
However, as a whole, I would recommend this hospital to others.
Golden Livingcenters
I visited this location when I was told I needed to find a place for my late father to receive temporary rehabilitative therapy.
It was depressing at best. The facility is modest and not very cheery. Residents were left out in the hall, largely unattended and seemed miserable. Menu options for residents seemed to be nutritionally unbalanced and lack luster. I could not imagine placing my father in this facility and chose entrusted his care elsewhere.
Kennesaw Pet Ctr
This location appears to be a very popular/busy place to board your pet. I found their pricing to be more expensive than the boarding facility I currently use for my dog. Their veterinary services were also more expensive than my current vet, whom I find to be more qualified and compassionate. I did have a problem with my dog returning from this facility with a skin condition after one grooming here - they shaved her too close - she had scabs.....
I believe their grooming staff has changed since, however.
They do a pretty good job overall, however, they are not my first choice facility for my pets needs.
