Great gift shop with very friendly help. I was looking for First Communion gifts all over the area and was thrilled to find some nice choices here as well as a full range of gifts for all generations and even myself. They were happy to gift wrap anything that I bought.
Anytime you need a book for children this is the place to go. Everytime I take my boys for a new book all they have to do is tell one of the sales people what they are interested in and they are introduced to an author or series that peaks their interest. I am impressed that many of the books have been read by the people working there and they can speak to the boys "first hand" about their interests.
Taste was voted the best caterer in San Francisco by San Francisco Magazine and they lived up to their reputation at my event. Their coordination of a surprise 50th birthday party was superb! The food was the best that I have ever had and they were serving over a hundred people. Everyone was talking about the food quality and the fun presentation of the tables. I would always go to this group for any event when I need a caterer.
Traditions offers a great choice of furnishings for your home. I worked with Design Consultant, Cathy Ettel, who does a great job of allowing you to pick fabrics that you like and then steers you in the right direction for style, scale and accents to truly develop a room that feels like your home. New pieces and great decorative accents are arriving weekly. They also have a great upholstery sale twice a year.

A fun store with lots of gifts and accents for the home that are really different than the average accessary store. This store has fun clothing, great straw and cloth purses as well as unique artwork and lots more to see.

If you would like a great guy to put on a wonderful bbq for you at your home or other location then call Tim Sandborn. Tim has been cooking for Palo Alto Little League players and fans for many years. If you want to sample his cooking then stop at the Little League field on Middlefield anytime you see a game being played and you will most likely find Tim. The fans love his tri tip sandwiches and so do the neighbors who come by for his cooking.
If you need a distraction on the days when the slopes are crazy at Northstar then take the free shuttle to Truckee and they will drop you right at the door of Jimmy Bean Wool (in the same building as the train station). You will find a great yarn shop with lots of choices for your knitting pleasure. The women who work here are very helpful with knitting tips as well as some fun suggestions at combining different types of yarns. If you find you didn't buy enough when you get home, you can reorder by phone or their website. They also offer great tips and free patternson their website.
This is a store that really knows appliances. Even though i had an idea of "exactly" what "I wanted to buy, these guys were not willing to make the quick sale. They wanted to show me the pros and cons of several models and I realized that there was a better choice for my needs. When there was a problem with a shelf from my refrigerator, they did not make me call the mfg, they simply gave me a replacement from their floor model. That is real service!
PROS: great service
CONS: similar store with similar name but not the same
