A-Abbey's Flower Nook
The people at Abbey's do a great job with their floral arrangements and they have a lot of options to fit every budget. I love the bear/balloon combos.
PROS: Variety
CONS: Location
Five O Clock Steakhouse
Well, after hearing the hoopla about this restaurant I decided to take my boyfriend there for a nice birthday dinner. Honestly, I was a bit disappointed. The meat was pretty tender but not very flavorful....it tasted more charred than good.
The pluses were the drinks we had (Starburst) which was an awesome martini and the baked potato was huge and had enough butter and sour cream to put a smile on my face.
Overall, this was a so so dining experience and with the cost of the meal, I expected a lot more.
PROS: Baked Potatoe, Crab Legs Appettizer, Starburst Martini
CONS: Steak
Russ Darrow Honda
Yesterday I went in for a test drive of a 2006 Suzuki Grand Vitara...it was purely a test drive out of curiosity and the dealership knew that yet they were just as friendly and helpful as if I had came in and said I have $5,000 to put down a car and want to take it home today. While I was there I really liked the cars they sell to so because of how kind they were I would recommend this location to friends.
AMC Mayfair Mall 18
Let me just say this....too many young kids who talk too much during the movie and don't respect the fact that other people have paid their hard earned money to see this film.
Is this what you get from building a theater in a shopping mall? Or, is this the result of a lazy staff that could care less?
I think it's both. The theater is in one of the areas only shopping malls in the Northwest side of town so it always has high traffic. The staff here is young and for the most part they have a "no care attitude".......wonder if they even check ID's before letting these teeny boppers into R-rated flicks.
This is just not the place to go if you plan to actually watch and hear the movie. You're better off waiting for it to come out on DVD.
Marcus North Shore Cinema
This theater is not as big as some others but it is still a noticeably clean, modernized, convenient theater. The seats are cozy, comfy...staff is friendly.....bathrooms and concessions have been updated. VERY NICE theater and the crowds here are decent too so you can actually go see a movie in peace.
Marcus Northtown Cinema
The owners of this theater have tried to de-ghettofy the theater by slapping a few coats of paint on it and hiring some new staff but this theater is still a mess to me. Of the Marcus owned theaters in the area, this is the worse I have been to. Not just speaking about the staff and patrons, but the facility itself.
The seating is out dated...you know how most theaters have the new plush seats with the stadium/amphitheater layouts...yeah well not Northtown. The carpeting has holes and spots all over it.....TIME TO BE REPLACED. And how the movies play with the sound acting up it seems it's time to replace the audio system.
To me, this theater is not being upgraded because it is frequented mostly by African-American patrons.
University of Wisconsin Milwaukee
I went to this university for 5 years. The thing I disliked the most about the school was that when I transferred from another university in the UW-System, most of my credits transferred as electives so I had to start over from scratch. That was irritating all in itself but at least there were great advisors employed by the university to guide you though the process. My advisor was Ms. Susan Fields and she was awesome. She helped me plan out my semesters and made sure I knew what I needed to do to graduate.
Professors were usually always available by either email, phone or office hours. Many of them were even great resources after you finished their classes.
Food is good.
Parking is pretty bad unless they have recently changed it.
Not a bad urban university.
PROS: Academic Advisors, Variety of Courses, Available Staff
CONS: Credit Transfers, Parking
People's Books Cooperative
Looking for a book for a college course? Looking for a book on a rare subject? Are you a history buff and looking for the older, harder to find books? If so then this is a good place to start. I learned about the book store when I was in college and they had the books that regular chain book stores did not offer.
Imperial Apartments
Whoever the person is that you have to contact about seeing an apartment, he is horrible about returning your calls or emails for that matter. When I was moving last time I made several attempts to see a 2 bedroom and could never get a call back. This time I went through a rental website and he responded to the email to ask a question but did not reply to my responses/request to view the unit last Friday. This is leaving (or has already left) a terrible taste in my mouth and I do not think I want to lease an apartment to someone who can't even call me back. WHAT KIND OF SIGN IS THAT?

I actually have seen the massage therapist that works out of this clinic. Leah provides a very professional service and really makes sure to hit all of your tension spots and alleviate the pressure without putting you in a lot of pain which sometimes happens when you go in for a massge.
She does a great job and I have referred several friends and highly recommend her.
